If you dont want a po box, or for some reason you travel/move a significant amount but want ur address to stay consistent, get an online address/po box, its a subscription service where you have a professional address. They manage ur mail, sort out spam, scan documents, and will also forward ur mail to wherever you are if you are in a different area. You could realistically never have to go there if you felt you didnt want to, but most cities have at least a few locations in them where you can just show up in person as well. Theres also ones that cost more upfront but overall are set up to save you money on international shipping.

Michelline Mbuyi TYSM! And it’s ok to feel overwhelmed - I cried multiple times during my launch. But just take things a step at a time. If you want to make one sticker pack, just make a list for every step. Like 1. Find paper 2. Ink 3. Am I cutting or using a machine 4. How much would I want to sell this for? Totally agree with you on keeping costs down. I have a spreadsheet where I track current costs for all my items. You can even Google costs per page of inks for various printers. Figure out how much it costs to print a 4x6 photo and you can get a rough estimate. But you have to factor in everything like the little bags, envelopes, business cards, freebies, etc when you figure out costs I don't go to the Post Office either. When I first started back in 2006, I printed all my postage directly from the USPS site. Their user interface is clunky for copying/pasting addresses but it worked fine when I only had a few shipments. After sales picked up, I got a subscription with Endicia and that worked much better.

regarding shipping: i used to be the shipping mgr at a small business and we used shippingeasy as the platform, with a scale that i think came with the service but i can't recall. we used a dymo with off-brand labels but if you don't have a dymo then you can print the label and cut it out and tape it on. as long as you don't tape over the barcode it's fine. also- depending on what you are shipping, the usps has free boxes you can order from their website (don't go in person, they never seem to have much and yeah, the lines and rude service sucks). the usps website is great, you can set a business address so they will literally come to your house as a stop and you will get one of those little buckets where you can set all your orders and the mailperson will pick it up when they stop by and drop off anything you're receiving at the same time. this might not work for all types of addresses but it does work for a lot of home offices. good tip about the PO box, i honestly wouldn't have considered that and now it's on my radar. thank you. your channel has been wonderful, i love how open you are about the specifics.

I use a cello bag inside a thank you card inside a polymailer. The cards and mailers are cheap and not only protect from moisture and bending, serve as a place to say thank you or add in a personal message or add in a return purchase coupon code, etc. And I seal each envelope with a store logo sticker with my shop name and other social media info, or a request to be tagged in photos. When mailing internationally if the haven't upgraded shipping the card with the cello bag of stickers inside is still a nice way to ship as it's still rigid and protective and the cello bag protects against moisture.

If anyone is interested in cutting machines, I highly recommend the silhouette I have had it for 2 days and it was super easy to learn how to use. It’s a lot louder than the Cricut but it is also significantly faster. The silhouette software program is also significantly easier to use. My one tip would be to do test cuts first and you will probably have to increase the blade force.

I loved this guide you are clear and honest about the realities of what is needed which has always been intimidating for me when I have tried to figure out how to start my own shop. It is super helpful, I was taking notes the entire time. Also, someone who is broke AF and did photos, I used an led lightbulb (pure white color), a flexible necked lamp, a nice white sheet/pillowcase or fat-quarter bit of fabric, and a large box (even a box from a package you got will do). Cut it out so you have two connecting walls and a base. It makes a great controlled photo area for product photos.

I have a few Etsy shops and have been curious to branch out to increase income. You are very intelligent and I agree with so much you said. I have yet to click on your Etsy shop, but I know from watching this video you have easily heavily multiplied your gross income. I do have one tip for you! Dymo thermal printers are very expensive to maintain. Labels are extremely expensive and honestly, there is no need. I recommend you go on amazon and buy a Rollo or Zebra asap. Search around amazon and you will find bundles that work just as well and way cheaper. It is all about cutting cost everywhere without sacrificing quality. This is small, but the small things add up quick!

I purchase them 5-6 times a year in bulk orders of 15,000 and they cost less than a penny per label. they have smaller bundles too if you wouldn't need 15,000! Definitely something to look into.

I generally hate the post office too. But I have a street mailbox next to my grocery store so I just put the orders in a bag put them in the mailbox and there's never anything in there so I can put in as much as I like and when I'm done I use the bag to put my groceries in

Sheena, watching your sticker vids has inspired me to make a sticker shop! I used to have an etsy shop like 8 years ago, we had some small success but it wasn't sustainable because we made all homemade accessories which take a lot of time. So eventually we had to close it up. Ive been looking for a new etsy shop idea to open that was more sustainable and the startup costs weren't very high. I recently bought a new graphics tablet and have started working on some designs. The main reason I want to have a sticker shop is to "create more from start to finish". Im a student so often find it hard to find time to create and produce art between the constant stress of exams and classes. Being creative and artistic is my passion and I don't feel as much like myself without it. So Im excited that this will be the thing to keep me moving forward creatively while still being able to balance school as well. Thanks for all the information! P.S. Quick question, Im still watching the vid so not sure if you have this info in there, but is it possible to make vinyl stickers at home? I want to make stickers that will go well on laptops, phones, water bottles, etc stuff like that that will get alot of wear and need longevity.

I think the reason for the cute packaging is to impress the buyer and I could understand. That's why i'm going to do that. 😊💞 Don't worry I got the money saved for the packaging but, it's just an envelope and ribbon. Nothing special! :)

Lucinda Windsor Wexler most of the cute packing is waste. You’re not gonna keep shredded tissue paper or confetti. Branded packaging is a different thing imo. But I get it for accessories or lip gloss. For stickers it’s more about packaging them so they don’t get damaged in transit

You can absolutely just write people's names in, and then either weigh them on a scale and use stamps, or take them to the post office and have them price the envelopes there. The label maker is only to quicken the process and make it more convenient!! :)

@@simplybyjess5963 Nope, stamps work just perfectly!! The only downside is that sometimes you "waste" money that way... say if stamps are $0.55 a piece and your shipping cost is $0.80, you have to use two stamps and in turn wasted $0.30 (0.55+0.55= $1.10, minus 0.80 = $0.30) rather than if you'd have taken it to the post office or had used a label for the exact amount. I hope that made sense.
