OPENING DAY Duck Hunt in Wyoming | 28 Gauge Duck and Goose Hunting 2023

Matt heads out west for the opening weekend of Wyoming duck and goose season. Cranes are also a possibility. The drive in is filled with wildlife and scenic views. He heads out in the morning with his buddy, Christian, to set up for ducks and geese, looking to bag his first Wyoming duck. Matt didn't have to wait long... It ends up being a great day of duck and goose hunting with the 28 gauge in some beautiful country.

Judging by the shot of Chimney Rock, I was about 3/4 of a mile from you on the north side of the Platte. At the time I was cussing at a stubborn generator....Love the hunts, keep them coming.

Thanks! I use a Polk Pattern goose call. Also use a Polk Pattern whistle and Zink Power Hen 1 for ducks.

That spot of mortality in your shooting at that flock of teal made me smile because it sounds like me and my buddies I hunt with after every flock. Not only did you shoot all 3 times, which is odd by itself, but you missed twice, and called out in frustration afterwards. This reminds me of the videos where you shoot 1 bird in a hunt and are still happy to have gotten out and enjoyed the experience. You do a great job and I cannot wait to see what you come out with next. "To be fair to your shooting on the day. You did at least dome 1 or both of those geese as the guys with 12ga's next to you missed hahaha"

Do you need a special tag for Sandhill cranes in Wy?, we do in TN. Or is it a one or two and done?

Yes. There's some areas you have to draw and they have a set quota. Others are general OTC.
