What's up dude! My girlfriend and I are excited for the upcoming Dungeness Crab season. Unfortunately we don't have a boat. Do you know of any good places to fish with a hoop net or crab snare from shore?
@ChrisPfish22 жыл бұрын

Nice haul bro! Nice boat too...I have the Impact xs. I got a lot out of this video. The kiddie pool is the best F’n idea I’ve seen. The salt water, eel grass, bait & sand destroyed both my carpet & storage hinges in my last boat. The garbage bag over the trolling motor...winner! That rusted out on my last boat too from being splashed by the salt water. I’ve been hesitant to take mine out in the salt. How do feel your Lund handles the big water?

Thank you for watching my video! I am happy you enjoyed it! It handles the big water well for what it is. Mine is 16.75'. It is true you do always want a bigger boat. My rule is 5 foot swell or less at 10 seconds and wind 10mph or under. Since you like my kitty pool and garbage bag trick you will probably like this one... I have a self car wash in my town $1 a minute pressure washer. You can do water or soap/water. $5 gets it all nice and clean and quick. Dude how are you first one to comment on kitty pool?

ChrisPfish Because it resonates with me. The ocean salt is unforgiving! & it wreaked havoc on my last boat. Literally the storage doors would just pull off from the rivets of the hinges eroding. Imagine going to lift your livewell door & it just pulls off! Sucked! I hear ya on the car wash, I use my pressure washer with the soap attachment.

ChrisPfish Mines a 1675 too. I think the only difference is the jump seats & ski pole

This year try heading out from half moon bay. First 2 weeks we were averaging 20+ crabs per pot.

Nice work! Could you do a video on what to look for on the fish finder to know where to drop crab traps and where to fish in the bay? Or is it simply trial and error
@ChrisPfish25 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! Yeah I can do a video on what to look for. Its important to drop on sand and not rock, unless of course you want rock crab or a snag :)
@davidsjelin17395 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisPfish2 good to know, is that true for lincod jigging as well?
@ChrisPfish25 жыл бұрын
@@davidsjelin1739 for lingcod/rockfish you want to fish the rocks, not sand.

Look for abrupt depth changes. Trial and error. Once you find the fish, make your marks on the GPS. Don’t ever share!

You guys need to come on down to the Fla Keys and catch some Stone Crabs where it's 85 degrees and clear water and fishing in 3-5 ' of water....just a tad bit easier and more fun than Dungeness!!!

Good job on the Ling, I hope the crab season improves as the season goes on. I'm going out tomorrow to give it a try. For the Lings do you use Dabs for live bait or don't you bother???
@ChrisPfish25 жыл бұрын
I use live smelt for lingcod when the bite is tough. I find those to be easiest to catch and they work great. Since it was a good bite on artificial no need for live bait that day. Check out my Half Moon Bay video when the bite was tough on swimbaits and I switched to live smelt. Thank you for watching!

Great video bro! And nice haul! Love the ling hook up! And those tasty 🦀 ! Can’t wait till I can get out there! That is where I have the least amount of experience.. thanks for the video!

Means a lot coming from someone I really enjoy watching. Thanks for the kind words! Shh my tip is google maps "satellite". Its easy to find the sand and the rocks on there. I like getting a rock cod rig, cutting the bottom hook off and tying on a 6oz jig head with a big swimbait. Hook on a small piece of squid to the top rock cod hook. Thats for scent trail. You probably know all this lol.

I just got a new ling and rock fish rod and reel I’m dying to try out! And i just pulled my crab pots out this weekend.. but I won’t be able to take my own boat out for a couple of weeks! But i am going out on a crab/ rock fish combo on the New Huck Fin on Nov. 14th.. I have heard of the swim bait rigging trick.. and I will definitely be putting your shhh.. trick to good use when looking for spots! Thanks ! And again great video!
