Hiii - I had just came across your account when I watched this video. As a third year myself, I know too well that the pressure we put on ourselves can be our own worse enemy. I completely understand your disappointment and I would never say that you should be chuffed with an (amazing) 2.1, as I know it’s hard when you work hard and get a grade you may not think is amazing, even if others do - as grades are so personal. But this isn’t just a normal 2.1 this is a 2.1 which you achieved in the middle of a pandemic and extraordinary circumstances which is even more amazing 🎉

That is so lovely, thank you so much. It's nice to know others understand and appreciate why I feel the way I do but it is really nice hearing from others saying they think I have done well, so thank you so much 🥰

Watching your video the night before my results are released! I completely relate on so many levels to what you're saying about setting high standards, and then being disappointed with yourself even when you've achieved an amazing grade in difficult circumstances. You've done really well and you should be proud! Thanks for sharing your reaction online too; it's helped calm my nerves a lot.

Oh my God, good luck!!! I'm sure you'll have done amazing and even if it doesn't go the way you hope, remember it's not the end of the world! You will be absolutely fine. Thank you so much for commenting and letting me know, that really means the world and I'm so glad it's helped! You have done the hard bit, just keep nice and calm. Thank you for being so kind 😘🥰

Aw, that was so close!! I'm so sorry but I really hope you're proud of yourself still! It is really good to know others feel similar to how I do. Well done again though, amazing result!!

I totally get where you’re coming from, a 2:1 is amazing and you worked hard which is something to be proud of, but when you put the effort in it sucks not to get the result you wanted. I’m still really impressed and proud of you for doing your best!! ❤️

Yeah, exactly! It's hard to come to terms with but I'll get there eventually! Thank you so much 😊

@@sarahlwalden I just pulled a 2:1 out of a crocodiles ass, it was not easy I tell you, well done you, I know what it takes.

Well done. I COMPLETELY get where you are coming from. I wanted a 1st. But got a 2.1 too and as much I am grateful, it sucks feeling as if you final grade doesn’t reflect all the hard work put in
@sarahlwalden4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's it! It's hard not seeing your work reflected in it, you got it spot on! But well done on getting your 2:1, I hope you're starting to feel a bit better about it 💞

Hii, i’ve seen a few of these videos and just wanted to comment something. You should be so proud of achieving a 2:1 during this crazy pandemic! However I completely understand where your coming from! I aimed to pass with a 1st Class and I actually achieved that! But i would be feeling shit if i had gotten a 2:1 as i was aiming for a first. But nevertheless, you should be so proud of all your hard work and effort! ❤️❤️❤️

ohh girl i've just found your channel through this and i feel your pain! i had exactly the same thing happen to me (filmed it too!) and it's hard to know how to feel isn't it - knowing it's a good grade but not being able to help feeling disappointed. but here to remind you that this disappointment won't matter in a year or two - we got our degrees from brill unis during a horrible year!! sending you lots of love and massive congratulations xx (p.s. i got a 66 too but i still count that as a 'high' 2:1 as it's over the half way mark hehehe)

Yeah, exactly! And thank you so much! I hope you're coming to terms with yours as well, huge congratulations to you too. And I will maybe starting saying high 2:1 to myself as well 👀😂

This was a very interesting video to stumble upon. I'm actually at the University of York as well and have just finished my final year of my history degree. I'll be receiving my final mark tomorrow. I was also annoyed at receiving 68 last year and tried really hard this year to push my mark up to a first.

I hope you enjoyed it! And I hope your results went alright and you got what you wanted, but if not, just remember a 2:1 is still a really good grade!

you didnt hit your word count, you arent the only one with issues so the grade you got you deserve. not hitting the word count you should be lower so you should be happy and fortunate you got a 2.1. sometimes working hours and hours on a topic doesnt allow your brain to rest thats probably why you didnt do that well on that topic. well done getting a 2.1. you graduated. dont fixitate on percentages. focus on the hard work that you done. Also with whatever issues you had got more than a pass. you got a degree
