Congratulations you deserved it. I got my Leaving Cert results this time last year and I was really happy with how I did. I am currently going into my second year at Trinity College studying History and I am really enjoying my course. Best of luck with the CAO offers on Tuesday.

Hellooo! My name is Nerea and I'm a Spanish student who is going to start the fifth year of high school in Ireland. I'm going to spend my last 2 years of high school in Ireland so I can get into a university there. I would like to study medicine but I wanted to ask you a question: I don't like physics at all and I'm pretty bad at it, is it necessary to study it during the last 2 years of high school to enter medicine or with chemistry and biology is it okay? I love your content and you motivate me a lot

I believe just chemistry and biology is fine. Usually they will introduce you to physics in college, so it's nice to have done it in secondary school. It's necessary to have chemistry to get into medicine.

Please answer If you can. I am a home educator willing to prepare my daughter to sit a leaving cert. How mamy subjects need to be taken? Is Irish compulsory? Are there written and spoken exams or just written?

Hi Jackie - at least 6 subjects need to be taken but your top 6 are counted - Irish is compulsory unless you apply for an exemption under specific grounds - there are written and spoken parts for some subjects along with projects - you can find out more on the sec website!
