So with regards to that promo you received, lv x cards were the ultra rare cards back in 2007-2010 era of the Pokémon tcg. Effectively how they worked is you’d put them on top of the normal version of that Pokémon and the lvx card acted as a power up.

Nice pulls guys!! Should really look into playing the pokemon TCG, it's fun and more relaxed than Yugioh in my opinion.

if level X is anything like MTG it gains based off something so inherits its level from somewhere

Im pretty sure lvl X is just a name for them to show that the pokemon is stronger

the letters are just a part of the name, and they are different cards from other Pokemon of the same name, an example being; Mewtwo EX, Mewtwo GX, Mewtwo V, Mewtwo X. These would all be different cards within the TCG, even if they are all Psychic type. EDIT: Another thing to mention is that the EX, GX, V, etc, all have a rule that states that when they are knocked out, the opponent gets two Prize cards. When a Pokemon is knocked out, the person who knocked it out gets a Prize card, which is just six cards set aside at the beginning of the game, and serve as the way to win. When you reach zero prize cards, you win!

Pokemon is 4 to the back for packs. The code cards will tell you if the pack has a decent pull. If the code card is all green pack has nothing. If code card is white then the pack could have something in it.
