Another user request, how to launch the worksharing monitor and Revit at the same time. This is one option I know lots of people use.
I hope you enjoy the session and learn something new! Feel free to comment any feedback/questions below, or follow my channel if you enjoyed this.

So simple. And so useful. Shame the WSM does not work with cloud models. Thank you for sharing this video, Gavin.

You're welcome! The communicator for 360 seemed good until they pulled it for security reasons.

@@AussieBIMGuru it was interesting that they pulled off a chat tool, which was an interesting one. And it seemed to me a step back on making it harder to know who might be working in a model on a given moment. Still looking forward for an integration with MS Teams.

I did the same but with powershell and just today i found out there is a Server utility which means we not only can open revit but create local files and open them too which i have to do cuz running dynamo graphs on server files takes too much time to execute the dynamo graph so i for some time create detached files and save thm to local system

Hi Gavin - Good work! Which laptop do you consider the best for BIM/VDC professionals?

It depends on the type of software they need to use. Typically ideal specs include 16GB RAM or higher (8 can work, but isnt future proofed well), i7+ processor (i5 can work, but same issue) and I'd probably suggest a higher end graphics card such as 1080/2080ti or a more recent Quadro (but they're being phased out now). Most websites by Autodesk will only endorse quaddro cards, but I know people using x80 ranges and they say good things. For portable work, I usually suggest a HP Omen or Spectre - this is what I'm using currently (Omen) for remote/on the move working. My home build is quite expensive so I don't recommend it to most (I had a tax writeoff coming up, so got the computer I wanted versus one that wasn't as powerful - almost 10k total cost for the model I went with).
