Opening Rules

Good players know the opening "rules" and can follow them every time.
Try to complete the opening as quickly as possible by not moving a piece more than once. Try not to make too many pawn moves in the opening.
Rule
1. occupy the centre
2. develop the minor pieces
3. get your king to safety
4. connect the rooks.
Completing the opening quickly will mean you start the middlegame before your opening and have an advantage. If your opponent is too slow then you may be able to catch their king in the centre for a quick checkmate!
