My Dad took me to see this at the theater as a kid. Man it definitely was good and scary. I've never forgotten the very end where Kirby comes back up the water well.

This is a chilling scene. Libby seems to be an authentic lunatic and the raw gritty nature of this scene makes it extremely effective as the tension slowly builds and explodes. This movie overall is a great little horror movie.

agreed, and this movie could've easily been hit with an x-rating (nc-17) since its the height of grindhouse chillers (gradually beginning in 1969) by 1980, feminists had enough of this type of compelling, ultra-realistic graphic violence-style filmmaking designed to terrorize the audience, so they began protesting joe spinell's maniac, while simultaneously begging studio execs like valenti to tone it down. by 1988, hollyweird caved. although they still make horror flicks, their just gore spoofs designed to gross-out the audience with zero shock value

Libby was a bit player in another Norris film ( I think it was The Octagon). Chuck was impressed with him so he had the Producers for Silent Rage hire him . Libby is one of the best movie villains ever.

Brian was 6'4" and really strong according to Chuck... and he was extremely athletic.. he himself did that spooky crouching part at the end, which made him look like a cryptic or demonic possessed

I can't believe that Chuck Norris would have ever starred in a cheesy slasher flick like this. I know he declined to return for the sequel which is probably why it never happened. I will give Brian Libby two thumbs up though. One very creepy and menacing performance and without any dialog. A fine actor. May he RIP!
