SMS Janil Puthucheary moved the Cybersecurity (Amendment) Bill in Parliament on 7 May 2024, the first amendment to the Cybersecurity Act since its introduction in 2018. This marks a major milestone in Singapore's journey to bolster our national cybersecurity and cyber resilience in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
The changes to the Cybersecurity Act will allow the Cybersecurity Agency of Singapore to better secure important computer systems, including the computer systems of entities that perform functions that serve national interests, and the foundational digital infrastructure Singaporeans rely on for business and way of life (e.g. cloud services, data centres).
