I’m still on my first play through. I unknowingly walked straight into that room, he aggressively “approached” me (I guess because I was too close) and within one second a dialog option initiated between us and I accidentally chose this weird looking option I didn’t understand in the heat of the moment and he instantly shut down. …and it was all over before I had any idea who he was or what had just happened.

if you give mama Murphy chems while you have the hunter/hunted quest she will tell you the reset code of the courser and the weird dialogue option you saw used the reset code she gave you so that instantly k1lled him

Why have I never done this? She’s a risk being out in the commonwealth. I generally just hack the terminal for the xp and then leave her. Better for her to stay locked up than be free and possibly start a Raider gang or something. Note that ik about this though this is even safer
