I don't take requests.
Rendered (not recorded) at 4k because of KZbin's terrible bitrates.

Is the 5.1 track the same as the one on the 2001 DVD?

Despite how quiet this film is, I would honestly doubt it. Most films were re-mixed for 5.1 on DVD so they wouldn't blow out most peoples' TV sets as Dolby Digital was *the* standard on DVD (other than LPCM, which is far rarer.)

@@homevideogallery Ah okay thanks. If it is the same mix that would be awesome like what the Alien Legacy DVD did a while back by porting the Laserdisc 70mm mix into the DVD version. But considering your info, I'll lower my expectations because the 5.1 remix we know of for The Godfather is truly bad.

@@Eva01-jy2qu7pu9r I'm not aware of the 70mm audio for Alien being on the DVD, but I also don't have the 1995 LD as of yet so I can't really compare the audio all that well. All things considerex, I didn't think the 5.1 mix for The Godfather was all that much anyways, it was mostly in the center speaker as-is, and the film isn't very reliant on bass activity. It's just not that kind of movie.

@@homevideogallery Yeah the 5.1 was mostly just for show. Like a lot of needless multi channel remixes we get for older films these days.

@@Eva01-jy2qu7pu9r On an honest personal level, I think that adding an LFE channel can really enhance a lot of older films since they do sound rather shallow as-is, but I agree. Many times it's really not worth the upgrade since the surrounds are usually just used for new sound effects (or so many tell me.) Grease I'd argue is also in a similar boat as The Godfather, but it feels a little more utilized, if I'll be honest (namely, some slight reverb and the dialogue and music vocals) all being in the center speaker actually makes getting the film versions of most songs not too difficult if you know how to rip AC-3 from LaserDiscs. Loading it into Audacity and muting all but the front left and right channels make it sorta surreal as they sound like karaoke versions, lol. On the flipside, that Tenchi THX LD set I've got is a really weird one because it sounds like they really went the extra mile to make the remix worth it, at least as much as they could. The exact same mix was ported over to the Japanese Blu-rays, even, untampered. It's such an odd experience but also really speaks volumes as to how much Pioneer really loved that series. Though, they only remixed the first OP for 5.1. The two EDs and the second OP are in the L/R only.
