There is a huge mark up with trade paper backs. Shops pay a few bucks for those $20 ones. And that Wonder Woman book is not selling high at all. These "Mystery" boxes really are Torpedo Exclusive Variant boxes with the chance for a slab to suck you in. I purchased two of the $100 ones. Most the books were similar. I also got the $50 box which was similar but they had some difference between. I also got a slab with it. Their sale price was way overvalued on the slab.

Torpedo just trying to move backstock lol, Modern Store exclusive variants are super hit and miss most end up cheap on ebay because every store has been doing them and none of them really standout as must haves.

Hi, Clint! I bought two of those boxes back in February and on the second box I actually won the Batman 1! It took about 3 days after they confirmed that I did win it for it to show up at my door so that wasn’t a bad wait. They posted a video of it on their Instagram. What actually made me want to get one of the boxes was watching you open the That Spider-Man Booth box that had the Daredevil 1 so I just have to say thank you for swaying me to buy one 😂 keep up the great work love the content!

You're defining "value" as a reseller and not a collector because you're getting your prices from the resale market on eBay. Comic shop prices will never be the same as eBay prices because brick & mortar stores have overhead, rent, utilities, employees, etc.

I personally like torpedo boxes. lot of people don't seem to like them but for me a chance to win a very big book I"ll never buy is worth it. because I figure I"m getting my moneys worth either way or close. Don't mind small gamble for big reward. Even if it is a long shot. On a side note I have won a slab from them. They put picture inside the box, then you just have to contact them and claim it.

Torpedo’s prices are WAY overpriced! Cut their prices in half and then you’re just about in the appropriate range. For example, I asked them about an 8.5 graded Green Lantern 76 I saw they had and they quoted me $1600. FMV is $700. That says a lot. When it comes to a mystery box where you’re getting things you don’t particularly want, the “value” drops even further. Sorry, dude, but it looks like you got robbed.
