I’ve heard some of Nick’s music, his trumpet playing (and bass and piano playing!), and his thoughts on music, but I think this interview gave me more clarity about not only his philosophies and some happenings of the 90s, but also about his personality. Very cool, thanks for sharing this cats 😎🎶

Duke Ellington said: In 1943, we stopped using the word jazz. He also said jazz is a verb, not a noun. This gives a different perspective to the few of his titles with utilize the word jazz - such as "Jazz Festival Jazz".
