@@brooksinternational4128 But they've been saying this throughout the ages. All vogue is gonna remind you of someone. You can flip it, make it your own and all that....but how many combinations of moves can you really do? How "original" can it be when everybody is doing it?

@@terrancemaloney29 I feel that! I definitely think similarities are inevitable, but your own vogue is like having your own personality. I think when people really bring their full selves into their vogue and actually experiment/have fun with it, more new/original styles will start to emerge. The Pioneers and Icons that started the scene & perfected vogue had previous dance influences, but they essentially created the art form from scratch & it wasn’t as mainstream as it is now, so having “unique styles” were more common. I think there needs to be more history lessons in vogue spaces and there needs to be more imagination & fun in the art. It’s not always about the combos, but the essence of YOU that you bring when performing. I think that, combined with technique & a true understanding of vogue, is what really makes a voguer stand out. 🥰

You are supposed to become possessed by the energy of the person...if it's your favourite FQ then you should have been mimicking them for so long that it's second nature. If you're just doing a few moves they're known by then you won't perform full out....thereby earning a chop. Everybody can't do it. It takes a love and a reverence for someone to be able to do it properly. This is ballroom
