With how difficulty things usually are in OpenToonz I was surprised to see this was so easy. I think they've improved the software a lot since it first came out.

It may have been easy for you you but I had to convert my audio 3 different times just to get it working, Opentoonz is really specific as to what audio it'll let you use and the process of getting it to work took about a hour and a half for me, keep in mind that I took no breaks in between

Honestly, same! Who would've thought that location on the software mattered where you place the file to? For the longest, I kept dragging it into the Drawing tab while thinking little of it. x.x

Thank goodness lol This was what got me to choose between Opentoons and Blender since Blender has it's own editor for sound files but it feels highly complicated to animate with This one seems easier but I didn't know that it can just add audio which is what I like so I can try working with lip sync

how do you drag audio, i removed a top section of the audio and now it doesnt play until about 50 frames in but i cant drag it up the timeline??????

Highlight all the scenes then drag your mouse to the edge so the bar highlights, then drag it, hope this helps!

hey i found a way to put mp3 and put it on opentoonz. first you need audacity. then inport the mp3 you want. then save mp3 as a wav. then go to files and drag the wav to opentoonz

you can also use adobe media encoder or other programs to just convert any mp3 to a wav

i like to animate at 14 fps but when i add audio it wants to play at 24 and is very clipy and stuff. how to i make it configure for 14 fps. bye the way i use audacity for my audio. EDIT: i figured it out. if anyone has the same issue then just check the you scene settings have it set at the fps you want not the slider one. i know that was a pretty stupid mistake but i can see other beginner doing the same. hope this helps

Hey, I’m trying to import my .WAV file into my project, but whenever I try to drag the file, as soon as it “enters” the OpenToonz territory it shows a stop symbol. I also tried literally copying and pasting the file onto the XSheet and it says they’re a nothing to paste. Can someone help me?

catchtheaman yeah, actually. You have to click the XSheet and click “Load Level” and it should open a browser of sorts. If you have your .WAV file in music, you should be able to access that folder and click and select it. It will say that what you’re trying to put isn’t originally on the project, but you can click “Insert anyways” (or something like that) and it should load ^^ I’m sorry if I didn’t explain myself well, English isn’t my first language.

@@chroniclesnexus Yeah. It's probably better to use a different program for sound. Opentoonz already covers enough for the animation so adding sounds is just extra.

I had this issue too with the repeating thing. So, in the video, notice how the 'speaker' icon doesnt show the little sound waves, leave it like that. use the Play and Pause buttons on the bottom of the scene instead. Looking through the comments now for the choppy thing. Turning it down helps but Im not sure if its a playback issue or if its gonna end up in the end result? I feel like for a "tutorial" he leaves out a lot of little key things or troubleshooting issues that may come up.

Hey man, Idk if you've found a solution by now but, ik one way to turn mp3 to wav. Its unorthodox but, u can download FL Studio for free and put ur sample in it and then export it as a wav.

@@NobleFrugal I messed up with sound settings, that's why my speakers weren't working. Then whenever I played an audio file in any program the program crashed. Same happened with opentoonz...I set back everything to default. Everything's good.
