Opera in Brief: Don Giovanni

If I remember correctly, in the story of Don Juan there is another scene after he dies. Don Juan goes to Hell and meets Satan, who tells Don Juan he will play the role of a jester or a "Fool" in Hell. Don Juan claims he is not a fool, he is a great lover, and tries to refuse the role. Satan offers him a deal, if Don Juan can remember just one of the women he's banged he won't have to play the fool. They bring out all women, one after the other, and Don Juan keeps getting them wrong. Finally they are down to the last few, as Don Juan looks at her he notices she's crying. Don Juan asks Satan why she's crying and is told, "she really loved you." Don Juan then realizes that he was a fool.
