I love opera IX sound you can't find a lot of bands that have that kinda vibe but true after cadaveria left it was not the same altought that girl that does back to sepulcro sounds almost identical to cadaveria but slightly different. I'm thinking maybe they can use her and remix past albums and re release them. I mean dimmu did stormblast and sounded incredible.

The characteristic Opera IX is not there, simply speaking. To me, it seems like any other plain black metal band. Anphisbena was the last true piece of the majestic work done by Opera IX.

I had great expectations. But I must sadly admit that I am quite disappointed. very weak vocals, and uninspired and boring song writing also in this last album. the Opera IX of the gold times are definitely over. extremely hard for me to say that.

Im going to have to agree with you, i feel that this new line-up is very forced and dose not have any of the old magick that made opera ix what they used to be, maybe with time they shall bring back the old opera but untill then...

Hail! I agree and disagree to an extent. Granted, they will never sound the same since Cadaveria's departure, I feel as if it is a good return to form (by managing to get a new female vocalist) and a good start in a new direction for them. I will say that I agree about the vocals being subpar, but I feel as if she's doing her own thing and not trying to live in Cadaveria's shadow or trying to fill her shoe's, which would be an impossible task, regardless. One thing I like the most about what she brings to the table is, to me, it sounds a bit more sinister, but all in all: to each their own! (:
