I've been playing Identity V for two years, and these tournaments have shown me things I've never seen before. I also like watching them to learn things that I wouldn't normally learn just by playing.

That is probably the most aggressive and calculated opera singer I've seen so Peter did an amazing if only I was that good lol I understand why she's going to get a another nerf in a small map like there's no escaping from her And I'm happy finally seeing clerk win in a tournament

15:13 i don’t know if anyone has mentioned it yet, but the new tournament ban system has it so that the survivors first 2 picked characters will automatically be banned in all their following rounds. i think that you are right in that she is being chosen because gardeners shield makes her pretty good in case she is opera singer’s first chase, but i think the other part of the reasoning is so that the survivors don’t lock themselves out from being able to use other meta survivors in later rounds

i don’t know if i explained that clearly sorry LOL and i haven’t watched the ijl streams yet to see the picks/bans but i bet that in this round gardener was 1 of the first 2 survivors that was picked. also this rule is true for every round so like by round 3, the first 2 survivors that had been picked in round 2 are also banned (meaning round 3 will have 8 survivors banned total when you include the ones chosen by the hunter) i personally find this new system pretty interesting i think it puts the survivor team in an interesting strategical position with who they should choose and i think it gives some other characters that had been used less in the past a chance to shine a bit

Coord is a tough one for sure. i think shes a good choice for singular "harasser" bc most times hunters will not bring excitement just for her alone (also on account of how easily the gun can be missed lol). i feel with coord theres mostly two strats: save gun for endgame (can be rly powerful bc even if hunter has excitement, theyd likely swap for end game) or use it REALLY early before excitement even comes in to guarantee a longer kite. but yeah, I hardly see her used for balloon-harrassing? the good thing about gun is that as miss-able as it is, it's also there from the start (which for ex. enchantress doesnt have going for her) and isnt as difficult to use as for ex. a forward football. it also works from further away than enchantress which means she is a little safer while trying to intimidate. I do think her decoding debuff is insane, especially for someone who is not necessarily good at rescuing over and over again (as opposed to other rescuers who have multiple items and/or passive traits that allow them to reach chair more easily and better chances of actually rescuing even against double-hit hunters), especially since a lot of coords commit to her kiting strengh and dont even bring tide turner. maybe it would be nice to tie the decoding debuff to her gun-item? or disable it when someones eliminated? sth like that would be my idea.

You probably knew this alr but fun fact, the clerk can also use her recordings to make the cipher progress go forward! That's why most top tier players primer ciphers for her around the 95 mark, just so that she can't pop it as she pleases, pretty neat stuff.

17:08 coordinators gun is the longest stun in the game, even if someone were to play lucky guy and get a gun, the stun is a lot shorter than coords. ( also fun fact!! in tournes it's impossible to get a gun from chests, so they'd have to go as lucky guy or coord to have that!) even if they ran forward, his stuns are really inconsistent. its also a lot easier to predict when he will use it 😢 i miss seeing him so much because he was the best character to play for awhile (i think he was meta for like?? 2 years straight!) even topping seer and merc i believe! not sure why he's not used as much, but i'm glad there's more variety now! i swear every tourney match was just forward, seer, merc, mech, priestess, acrobat, batter and when psych and patient came out then they'd be in there probably 😂 and the main hunters would be dream witch, breaking wheel, sculptor, bonbon or bloody queen & geisha! clerk was in there for awhile too! i miss when women dominated the hunter meta ..

46:20 I am no expert but I believe that the survivors might have been aiming to play safe, especially if it is one of the earlier matches (in this case probably aiming just for a tie). saving after half = 60 seconds guarranteed of free decoding time for the other two survivors, whilst saving before = only 30 seconds guarranteed + injured forward in need for a heal (and the more danger he will be in). If he saves after half, he is safer to an extent, as the Ithaqua would be busy camping the chair and is less likely to stray too far, in comparison to if he saves before and the barmaid goes back on chair, either Forward will have to leave and run to someone to heal or risk the Ithaqua getting more aggressive as he is one hit. Rescuing after half meant that by that time the other survivors would probably decoded their current ciphers, meaning instead of forward having to run to them to heal, they can instead group together in a much more ideal location. saving time. This might just be me rambling out of my ass and could all be completely inaccurate, but this is just my guess.

TOURNAMENTS!!!!! Monkey explanation for clerk: records interactions, use those forward or backward. So say you vaulted over a pallet while you were being recorded, she now has that as a recording and can use that to block off windows because its kinda like she created another person and that person vaulted over the window. Also, when being recorded its either interaction speed or vaulting speed is decreased. She can record people on ciphers and reveres that progress by putting the recording on the cipher on "reverse" she can also help finish ciphers but you wouldnt do that. 50:10 he used the swap item thing while walking method
