Also, I know Christmas is over but an absolute must is their cover of Mary, Did You Know featuring Mark Lowry (who wrote the lyrics) and really captures the song like no one else can. Someone below (earlier) noted that Jamey Ray is the founder and sole arranger. I remember seeing a video that quoted him and his relationship to the group. When asked about his arranging style and skill, he said that he selects singers with qualities he knows, and then arranges the music to take full advantage of their individual and combined skills. In effect his arrangements are tailored predominately to the specific performers. And the results are spectacular.

I wish I had teachers like you when I was in school 50 years ago, I might have been a better student. You always look like you are slapping someone across the face when a particular part of a song grabs you one way or another LOL, that's very cool. I was a tad lost during your music theory part because I didn't have any of that in school, I was in the school orchestra and marching band so our focus was on playing and performing, not theory. You and Voctave, a match made in heaven!! Awesome!! I would love to see you participate in a collab with Voctave. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and beautiful voice (and eyes) with us. I am learning with you the whys of how Voctave hits different with me. Vocal perfection comes to mind:)

@@jessicasopranonotes Voctave watches reactions and I am CERTAIN they will hear about you. I once received a reply to a comment on a reaction from Tiffany Coburn (the soprano that exudes joy when she sings). I think you'd love o holy night, she's the EJ of that one:)

that is absolutely the greatest rendition of that song I've ever heard. Not only is it true but their voices are like the angels that came singing to the lowly shepherds!!

Loved this so much! Always blown away whenever I hear this particular arrangement. Your analysis cleared up alot that I was wondering about! I'd love to see you react to and analyse Voctave's O Come Emmanuel/The First Noel/I Wonder as I Wander. The altos get their chance to shine right along side the sopranos (Kate Lott, OMG) Keep up the great work! Looking forward to seeing more of your analyses!

Thanks for introducing me to Voctave. I just listened to them singing Mary Did you Know with Mark Lowry. Pentatonix has a beautiful version of this also.

I adore Voctave and one of my favorite things is seeing people see how talented they are. I saw them live once and they were just as perfect as the recording. This has been one of my favorite reactions. Not only were you so excited about a good performance but you were so informative. Can you please do their princess medley and love medley?

Absolutely jealous you got to see them live! And yes, I have both of those written down 🤗

Definitely love Voctave! Much appreciate your in depth analysis of it all, very, very well done, indeed. 👍 Other classic Voctave videos are Princess Medley, Showstoppers Medley, and Love Medley. All are more on the Disney end of things, but all very good!
