my first job on leaving school in 1973? was with Nat jackley as his stooge in a sketch “the sergeant major” in Music Hall at the Palace, Palace Pier theatre, Brighton. The sketch was written for and had hardly changed since the Boer War. Nat and his fellow vaudeville artists bemoaned the advent of TV because it destroyed their livelihoods, unable to survive performing only one sketch as they were used to travelling from theatre to theatre, town to town. I was also ASM for the Summer Season in Brighton and Yarmouth. Nat was a wonderful gaffer. Always delightful. ®️✖️

Nat was my boss for the summer season in 73. He later appeared in the Beatles film “Magical Mystery Tour”. but complains that business had not been good since the 30s.
