Im going to be starting classes soon. And I only have one concern that I haven't seen anyone really cover.. I sometimes get eczema on my hands for numerous reasons.. usually it's my diet and can keep it under control.. any tips to protect my hands from scrubbing in all day? Thanks and I love your videos BTW they've really inspired me to continue chasing my goals!

Do you have scrub nurses? I’m an OR nurse in the PH and we don’t have surg techs here so i’m a little confused

Do you have scrub nurses at your job? I can’t tell if I should just be a scrub nurse or scrub tech? I want more money and be on the line passing and touching instruments and be able to hold some tissues and retractors. I do not want to be a nurse circulator fyi. At my hospital we have Scrub techs and the nurse circulators in charge of them. I really don’t know?

They are the same thing. Yes nurses can be a scrub. The term scrub nurses extended back to wartime when women nurses could not work on the ships so they then were used in the OR as Operating Room Technicians (ORT). This then became Certified ORT (CORT). Today we are known as CST, TS-C (depends on the test you took, NBSTSA or NCCT),ST. You can become a Registered Nurse RN-CST. I hope that this helps
