Dear Becky, In case you were born and raised in the US, here's a quick question, if I may ... I'm a Russian guy who is planning on taking a month-long vacation trip to the US for the first time ... My main interest is meeting single women searching for a life partner. I sure hope that American women are nice, caring, selfless and family oriented… Unlike Russian girls who are only chasing after wealth and fortune … But I'm well aware of the fact that I have only slim chances of tying the knot with an American girl because none of them would probably be willing to relocate to Russia with me as a wife even though I'm a firm believer in true love and commitment wherever you go (in addition to being a good provider, of course). Besides, we Russians have been getting a bad name in the Western World due to that crazy decision our political leader made a couple of years ago. (And you know what I’m talking about, don’t you?). Good movie, but from an ex-Army sergeant, they got a lot of things wrong. The thing that annoys me the most is at his age and for as long as he has been in the Army, he should be way above an E-5....at least E-7 or even E-8. I was an E-6 getting ready to be on the E-7 list when I left after 7 years in the Army.

@@willaknotts1298 An E-5 is what we used to call a buck sergeant, and is usually in an assistant squad leader role. An E-6 Staff Sergeant would be in a Squad Leader role, while an E-7 Sergeant First Class would be in a Platoon Sergeant role. Most E-5s get to that level in just a few years, maybe 5. If they haven't been promoted past that level in just a few more years, they would probably be booted out of the Army since they are not showing any ambition or leadership qualities. For his character to be at his age, he probably has been in for over 15 years, maybe close to 20 and if he hasn't been promoted past E-5 he wouldn't have last that long before being booted out.
