You'd be surprised. Having worked previously at EUR at State, I can tell you this brand of threat is more real and active now as it ever was, though it's supported at the top levels of Gov't so I wouldn't exactly call it extremist in that sense. The Russians have been spending billions of rubles continuing to develop their bioweapons program. This is all publicly available knowledge. Might I suggest, you should check out the book Biosecurity in Putin’s Russia by Raymond A Zilinskas and Philippe Mauger.

@@neokoga Soviets were developing a lot of different bioweapons long time ago, as well as US, and it is not surprise that it is still being worked on. But you don't see those types of weapons used by Russian/US proxies, like ever for obvious reasons. Thats why mission plot is pretty dumb, like Call of Duty level of dumb.
