The Allied decision to invade Sicily was made in mid-January 1943, during Casablanca Conference when the Joint Chiefs of Staff agreed to continue the commitment in the Mediterranean, hoping that by maintaining the momentum, they would relieve the German pressure on Russians at the Eastern Front. And although it may appear that the Allied decision to invade Sicily was easy, straightforward, and self-explanatory, it was not the case. Despite differences of opinion among the Allies and difficulties during the planning process on May 21st, 1943, the final draft of the Allied invasion of Sicily, code-named Operation Husky, was approved.

For 1:45 ...many croatian??? In Stalingrad pocket was only one unit 369. pojačana pješačka pukovnija/Verstärktes (kroatisches) Infanterie-Regiment 369. thru passed less than 3 900 soldiers, but by Stalingrad was much less soldiers, by october 21 1942 had 983 soldiers. There was another unit but not in Stalingrad - Laki prijevozni zdrug/Legione Croata Autotrasportabile with bit more than 1 000 soldiers in Italian 8th Army . So 1%, altogether less than 1% off all axis soldiers is MANY??? ( en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Stalingrad )

@@FromtheBattlefields Not even close, comparing to numbers involved in antipartisan fighting in pupet state of NDH. BTW partisans in teritory of previous state of Yugoslavia was in control of comunists and there was no comunist resistance before operation Barbarosa

@@oim7392 I know something about that. However, I live in Croatia, and I studied history. I didn't want to get into a debate, but I'm afraid you misunderstood the sentence that goes like this: "On the Eastern Front, the German 6th Army, a pride of Wehrmacht, along with many Romanian, Croatian and Italian troops, found itself engaged in a life-or-death struggle..." I didn't specify that there were a lot of Croatian troops. I just listed who else there was besides the Germans.

There's also the part where it's evident that you've never been to New Orleans Louisiana because if you had you would know there's many different ways to pronounce something and you would have learned to get over yourself.
