Have you completet your quest in cataloging the marvel universe ?

Day job is still a small plot farmer which keeps my Summers full - but yes. Have stepped back some. I have a list of hundreds of Marvel videos I want to make and I will to return to cover a few things but needed to step away and/or take a break from the Mouse. I love making the vids - but can't get past the gut feeling that at some future date Disney will come through and clear channels like this out, especially as YT becomes more and more corporate. This means I will probably only put out a few more Marvel videos. Tried something new, and I was stoked about working on Spawn, but the series wasn't really pulling in many views. I can understand.... early Spawn kinda sucks, with way too many crossovers. The series hits is stride about issue #50. Plus, people didn't sign up for this channel for Spawn. Currently re-envisioning my KZbin future. I think I need to step away from discussing other peoples' intellectual property. Tired of looking over my shoulder while handing out free advertising. Local history and some other topics are under consideration. Moving into projects that would allow me to use my editing skills for more than a slideshow. So, a few more Cosmic Comics videos coming but I'm not sure when (months away at the soonest). At some point I just want to sit down and do a big discussion of Quasar and Mark Gruenwald. In a seperate video maybe discuss in a nuanced way why I'm currently so unsatisfied with modern day Marvel/Disney that moves beyond the current woke tropes.

@@228Iya Sadly, I did check out Eternals Vol 5 (2021). I've been disappointed that the only image of the son of Verona and Mara has been a single panel - one time in it's pages - and that was to show his corpse. HIS corpse. I was hoping to get some kind of explanation on the Makkari gender swap before the Eternal's movie. Based on Makkari's historical past within (and outside) the Marvel Universe, I completely disagree with this gender swap. The one frame they give him in the entire Eternals 2021 series (to date) is to show his dead body lying upon a battlefield. But the variant Makkari cover shows him as a black woman?!?! Explanation please!!!?!!!! Overall, I feel like the series was spending too much time rehashing the past and feels way too much like the beginning of other Eternal series where they wander about looking for other Eternals and trying to pull the crew back together while piecing together what has happened. Too much focus on Ikaris and Sprite. The worst, I found the artwork laughably atrocious and lacking in detail. So bad, I couldn't believe they were charging the price that they were for the comic. I was standing around the comic shop with a group of people as we literally laughed out loud and trashed how bad the art is. My "go to" expectation for what I should get from a $2.99 book is Spawn. Spawn is $2.99 an issue and consistently has art that blows the 3.99. 4.99, 5.99, 6.99 and up books out of the water. If an independent publisher can still push out books with better art and only charge 2.99 - then Marvel needs to get on their game and start hiring & developing better people/talent. Marvel has no business charging the prices they do when the art is continuously sub-par. Todd takes talented artist under his wing, mentors them while at the same time giving them the freedom and space to really open up on the page. The one good thing I can say about the new Eternals series - is they are appear to be attempting to streamline and put all the various Eternals stories together into single discernable timeline (as there were holes and contradictions all over the place for decades). Edit - in short, sorry to poop all over something you obviously enjoying - I haven't liked Marvels art style for years now and I'm just an old fan set in my ways and bitter that massive changes are coming to a character I really like and care about and any explanation as to the reason why these changed are taking place has yet to be revealed - not even a, "we think the lineup needed more diversity." All this from a series in which it was 11 issues into the original run, nearly a year, before they introduced the first minority Eternal. I don't hold it against them, it was mostly a couple of white guys throwing ideas on paper and seeing what sold. They didn't expect to face the microscope of 2020 standards of representations and diversity. And if she gets a boyfriend, it better be Quasar. Former bros dating after one of them gets a sex change. Quasar's likely to live forever since he functions as an aspect of Infinity. Makkari can also live a long time. They might be capable of pulling a couple of thousand or millions of years worth of a relationship out of that. Oh, but she's going to have to return to the running contest and prove once again that she can still be the fastest being in the universe. It's a rematch that needs to happen. Makkari wouldn't settle for anything less.

Great summation, I couldn't agree more with your assessment of this story. It really shows a level of over inflated testosterone mixed in with America F&*K YEAH from the 90's that doesn't age well at all. Not that an initial read would have given any satisfaction at the time of reading it back then. It has all the narrative subtlety of a piss soaked brick in the face. If this was a movie it would have started with the Cannon group logo, granted that's an insult to the Cannon group. I'm glad you did this so other's don't have to.
