I think the big “blindside” is that they had acted like the Recruit Rework was going to be a game changing ability but no, it’s the same gadget but now they are ops and can be monetized

To clarify, the term ‘rework’ was only ever used by content creators and the community; not by Ubisoft themselves’ who referred to it as a ‘remaster’. The hype around this was mainly due to the fact that there’s this meme stigma around the operator. I don’t think Ubi went out of their way to hype this change up. This is just my take on it though.

In my mind Bleed/Bliss/SCARZ all underperformed while CAG/PSG Talon/FearX all exceeded expectations. Bleed felt extremely inconsistent their entire run at the major and Bliss fell off hard in the BO3s. SCARZ were really hampered by the inability for any combo of their fraggers to perform at the same time and it seemed like they missed Pyon's IGLing in their international matchups (albeit out of their control due to his health issues). I think CAG had a very solid showing for their first outing with this roster, they gave BDS a far better match than any team they faced in a BO3 until Beastcoast beat them. They have things to work on, but their ceiling feels higher than any of their previous iterations. PSG Talon themselves expected to go 0-3 and were aiming to just get international experience, so for them to come within one BO3 of makng main stage is definitely overperforming, and I'll be curious to see what Fabian can help them do in this off-season. FearX looked solid beating G2 but unfortunately lost in the only BO3 Bleed really showed up to, but I dont know how much farther this version of the roster with Nova on it would realistically have gotten in Phase 2. Also think its more likely for Striker to see ranked/comp play than Sentry, seems like making an EMP/Hard Breach combo or 2 Frags/3 Flashes is more plausible than the combos Sentry offers, without mentioning that its harder to slot into a defense lineup as is due to their overall strength at the moment.

Appreciate the Reddit comment highlight. This season has some nice QoL improvements, some very needed balancing changes. It's a good season, just a lot more boring in terms of new content compared to other seasons. I expect the season to be like seasons when sens and grim came out, mostly dry, but with potential for a future season to come out later that is packed with new content and cool new stuff

As a Bleed die-hard fan, and more importantly the creator of the Joel copypasta on twitch I was really disappointed. And watching Terd stream earlier today he revealed that the match that he enjoyed the most was Bleed v FearX, when the team spirits were high, and while they started the swiss phase well, but it ended a repetition of the Atlanta Major all over again. I expect that for the future they work their mentality for these events, they have talent, one of the best coach, the best mascot, and whoever they pick (one of the players might leave because of national service) I really hope it is to break this team curse of not making into the main stage, otherwise I will commit a Joelcide. (Also as a side note, Reeps used the C-word in Japanese in the all-chat in one of the matches, a big L and offensive, I hope he was warned to not do it so)

It was just a lazy adaptation from the Beaulo copypasta where I changed his name to Joel's, and when I did it all the way back in Atlanta, I wasn’t expecting the mods to add as a command 😅. The command in the twitch chat is !bleed and having the 7tv installed to see the emote of the spinning Joel makes the copypasta better, but its nothing special, more like a joke for me. The copypasta is: If Joel has a million fans I am one of them. If Joel has ten fans I am one of them. If Joel has no fans, that means I am no more on the earth. If the World is against Joel I am against the World. I love Joel till my last breath. 🙂 @@scalarmotion

One thing you said about boring updates I found interesting was "is it acceptable?" To me, absolutely yes. If we were paying for paid DLC every season or updating a membership you expect quality content every time. However, in a game where we pay $60 up front and play for 9 years with constant free content updates, does it all have to be top quality? Fuck no. Its risky for them to keep releasing boring content but well within their rights

This major was great and very surprising to see a different region take the whole thing, a lot of surprising things also happened this major beastcoast miracle run, Liquid going as far as they did even though they were going to be eliminated if ssg didn’t sell, bleed’s hot start after getting 7-0 by ssg twice and barely beating FearX, G2 not even qualifying for the major, BDS lose to PSG, and Faze and furia both not making it to the finals. I don’t think I saw anything like this happening at all this major but it definitely was entertaining

Really hope no one buys the membership. If it gets popular something just worse will come out in the future. Think the regular bp price was fair enough. Imo the content in bp just gets worse for each season atm :/
