I do love how they well they captured the JPOG essence in each one. It looks like you're playing a remaster for some of these. And it's great that going back to JPOG un-kangarooed some of the dinos like Pachy, Dilo, and Acro. I do wish they went a but further on the hadrosaurids though to make them mainly quadrupedal again rather than the kangaroo-esque bipedal versions from JWE.

The Albertosaurus scream is actually just the Spino roar at like twice the speed and to be honest I think I'd prefer the JPOG variant of almost all of the dinos. They just ooze so much nostalgia. I especially love colors that the Edmontosaurus, Corythosaurus and Quranosaurus had in JPOG and, of course, my all time JPOG favorite the Homalocephale. The colour combination together with their size and the chirping noises were just so goddamn adorable. The JWE Homalocephale is still cute but I think it doesn't really capture it the way the JPOG one did. The Camarasaurus in JPOG always kind of reminded me of watermelons. The JWE Ceratosaurus and Pachy is just the JPOG one after hitting the gym for a few bit.

personally i'm kinda hoping for an official JPOG pack by Frontier which adds not only some attractions (the balloon tour and viewing domes in particular) but also adds the remaining cut dinosaurs and distinct JPOG skins (probably as "2005" skins) for any that can't really be approximated with skins already in the game--no need to make a distinct JPOG raptor when that JP/// female is already in the game, for example

The mods did more justice to the Spinosaurus here than what Frontier has done in years (lack of muscle bulk, length and height size reduction, smaller skull, no exclusive theme, weaker power stats etc)

Fun Fact: Carcharodontosaurus’ sound effects in JWE2 is a combination of both JWE and JPOG’s Carcharodontosaurus’ sound effects combined into a single roar

Well that’s your opinion, but if you listen to JWE2’s Carcharodontosaurus roar, you can hear it about to roar like JWE’s but than it than sounds like the JPOG Carcharodontosaurus, which means Frontier wanted to homage the original Carcharodontosaurus sound effects by combining JPOG’s Carcharodontosaurus’ roar with JWE’s Carchrodontosaurus roar

The music heard during the Camara is actually from the end credits video of JPOG. Most people never watched the credits so the music never really stayed with us like the rest of the soundtrack! I love it though, it very much feels like a bittersweet but ultimately happy song like we’re saying goodbye to childhood.

Those Dryosaurus are excellent! I hope the mod makes them game accurate and constantly dying of malnutrition (thirst), even when in an enclosure mostly made of water. (That was why they died in most of my JPOG games anyway).

I would say the biggest dino that would benefit from a official JPOG skin is Carcha. Compared to all the other dinosaurs in Evolution, JPOG’s design for Carcha blows JWE’s out of the water and was probably the most iconic original design to have come out of JPOG. There’s a reason it set such a standard that Frontier sampled its roar in Evolution 2. There are few others that I like the base designs more as well in JPOG, Edmontosaurus especially.

I looked at all the cosmetics earlier today and I have to say, the only one I like more than the base game variation is the carch, ourano, para, corytho and the anky (which is basically just the base game 2001 anky) the others just either feel slightly off variations of the animals like the overly wide skull of the allo, the weird abomination that is the styraco and the weirdly skinny cerato or like just slightly edited Variants of the base game versions.

I think that it would be a 2nd dlc of jurassic world camp cretaceous to tarbosuarus, nothosaurus Sino-Spino and a skin of little eatie or a dlc off the late jurassic period Torvosaurus, Chaoyangsaurus, Rhamphorhynchus and predator x and in June maybe another dlc to celebrate the 30th anniversary of jurassic park in the dlc have Microceratus, segisaurus, Hypsilophodon, Hadrosaurus, Callovosaurus and skins variants of dinosaurs that were in the novel.

jpog was good, and this mod is very cool, but the fanboyism for jpog that looms over jwe2 is quite cringy ngl. i dont like it when people keep letting frontier know that jpog did this and jpog did it better and jpog this and that, hell i've seen some praise the awful sound design and think its what makes jpog jpog, like bruh. not to be negative but the fanboying surrounding jpog just makes me resent the game more and more. i love jpog still, but i want jwe to be its own thing instead of just a copy of jpog (that includes not copying jpog's carcharo roar for example...)

i wonder who owns the rights to JPOG now? i know the original company went under, it would probably end up in universals hands right? if so, frontier should absolutely make a JPOG dlc with the skins and attractions. minus the balloon tour (and maybe the dome?), everything else could just be re-skined and they would win so many points with the hardcore fanbase.
