Assuming he can't avoid strikers entirely, I'd like to see Cody develop a style akin to Whittaker's current one, albeit modified to suit his more boxing-centric skillset. Both have great footwork, speed, and power and are capable of implementing explosive blast doubles to throw opponents off their rhythm (neither has fantastic grinding top control, though they don't seem to care). Just focus on avoiding silly brawls and exploiting his speed -- both in terms of footwork and handspeed -- and timing in the striking to land clean shots from the outside in a defensively responsible manner while keeping the threat of the TD alive. Cody has shown that he doesn't need to load up and throw with 100% power to knock a motherfucker out or just rock/drop them, but doesn't seem to believe this sometimes.

Got in a lot of wars early in his career due to piss poor defensive striking technique and edged them out due to his physical attributes. Basically what was already said, he's got a pretty weak chin now and more than anything HE IS THERE TO BE HIT-also to give one back on occasion like we saw in the Assuncao KO when he slipped a lazy punch and turned Assuncao's lights out with the right hook-but ever since then his head movement hasn't been notably sharp and he's always kept his hands down when retreating from the pocket)
