Operations and Facilities: Mine Site in Moramanga

The Mine Site is located near the town of Moramanga, in the Alaotra Mangoro Region, 80 km east of Madagascar’s capital. The ore body at the Mine consists of two lateritic nickel deposits: the Ambatovy and the Analamay deposits, with a total footprint of 2,154 ha, including our actual mine area of 1,616 ha and a buffer zone. Ore is surface-mined and turned into slurry for transportation to the Plant Site via a pipeline.
