Bro, this was the day I rode on locomotive 93, my favorite GE on the railroad!

Fantastic shots! I’ve seen the locomotives purchased by the Durango & Silverton, as well as the ones in still in Skagway (because I’ve been to both railroads). Also that M5 on #108 is AMAZING! It’s also pretty interesting that #73 seems to have a…diesel’s bell? Anyway, loved the video!

I worked on this railrod for thirty or so years (1971 - 2001). This lightweight video only tells a sall part of the role it played in opening the Yukon to modern times.

I sincerely hope that those diesel locomotives will be around for many years to come I don't ever wanna see those engines get replaced

@Lucas Cain The old ALCo’s are being replaced by NRE locomotives originally intended for the Australian market; however, some of them have been purchased by the Durango & Silverton, giving them a renewed lease on life.

The railroad currently runs to carcross but originally went all the way to White Horse

When does the railroad plan on retiring the old diesels?
@RailPreserver2K3 жыл бұрын
What they could do is put all new engines and controls into the existing diesels but keep the original car body and whatnot because the Diesels also give the railroad character
