Considering how complicated the switching assignment was, your planing was good! Everything just kinda fell into place! Thanks for starting my workweek with a video!👍🏼

Great video! You toke your time and did not try to rush things when you had to play mental gymnastics. I like single locomotive ops because it is simpliar to plan ahead for space moves. I use a GP38 or SW1500 for ops like you are performing. The GP15-1 works great. Keep up the videos. You make my day!!

Very nice ops session! I would have to keep the scheme of things, use SW-loco to help the industrial switching. I mean, using GP loco aren't always practical, due to their length. However, you always make things work. And besides, your layout use what you wish.

That's what I was thinking, they need to assign a SP or former SP Crud to SoCal the next time one of those Geeps go in for a 90 day inspection.🤔

Not sure when UP sold their last SW, but they currently only own one end-cab switcher, an MP15 that's used to switch the steam shop in Cheyenne. Thing is, an SW1500 would be 10ft shorter than the GP15-1 (and 15ft shorter than a GP38) but I don't think there was any point during this switch that a shorter locomotive would have helped.

That transformer at SoCal Edison (or a smaller one) would make a nice removable load for a heavy-duty depressed center flat car. Just an idea for some more variety there. Also, consider adding a coil car to your car roster to handle the shipment in of the steel coils.

I'll bet Torres has some choice words for the yardmaster! He worked hard for his tacos today. One thing that would have simplified this operation considerably would have been re-blocking the cars so the flats for the lumber yard were behind the locomotive as it came into Huntington Beach.

I can't wait for the day when we can follow the crew from the yard then out to the customers then back to the yard. Maybe stop and grab a fish 🌮 or three before we head back to the yard. Another great day in SoCal.
