There's a mod for Breakpoint called Spartan on Nexus mods. It makes most guns louder both unsuppressed and suppressed, and altered how AI behave as a group. It doesn't sound like much but the reason why Breakpoint feels so easy most of the time is because the enemies don't know where you are. Having the enemies be able to track you down makes the game a lot more intense and mil-sim like.
@jacobmetalcrafter6259 Жыл бұрын
The funny thing is they'll actually still start searching in your direction even if you did nothing to show your position, and they completely ignore distractions if you haven't used a distraction object. For example, calling for a mortar strike in Wildlands; they'll instinctively know the direction to you (unmodded)

Yeah enemies are borderline deaf most of the time. They should probably be able to see a bit further, but the deafness is what really makes stealth straight up boring. On console I just dropped the difficulty to Advanced and stopped running suppressed primaries. Much more dynamic gameplay that way, relying on pistol and knife for stealth and being forced to go loud more often.
@joffy9373 Жыл бұрын
Can confirm, spartan mod makes the ai (espacially the ghosts) as deadly as they should have been (I think it even has an effect where all ghosts get night vision too which makes night raides extremely hard). Also, finally you can have long distance firefights with all enemies which add a ton of immersion. And as stated, the suppressed sound edits makes a huge difference when doing objectives in bases. Still, it doesnt fix one huge problem which is the lifeless world, though I've come more aquinted to it due to this mod.

Now try this with the Spartan Mod Drewski. It's a completely different game. You can also remove bullet trails, and auto-reload. This suprisingly makes the game even more challenging as now enemies can not only spot you from 300 meters; when they shoot at you, you'll have no clue where they are. All you have is the sound of bullets weezing past you and the dirt impacts to figure out their general direction. However, they could be any distance.

My friends and I did a play through like this last summer. It was a ton of fun. However, we quickly figured out that the hardest/most frustrating part wasn’t bases or behemoths or anything like that. It was roads. The amount of times we got killed traveling to our next mission or trying to secure a vehicle or even just crossing the road was wild. Also the invis guys in motherland are terrifying when you have no hud and die in 2 bullets.

Too many people crap on the game but it is great. This game is better than wild lands in everything except the map. I do not believe it is diverse enough although it does have a lot of terrain. The lack of civilians actually moving on the island was a big down fall of breakpoint. There are issues but there are also a ton of issues with wildlands.
@jamesbartlett5640 Жыл бұрын
@@Sak-zo1ui I agree about the lack of civilian's but I can't remember what they was like in Wildlands need to play that again, Just Cause 4 got it right. Though with Wildlands you could call in mortar support from the rebels.
@YoutubeValkyrieQueen141 Жыл бұрын
@@Sak-zo1ui Try not to forget many people crapped on this game for good reasons. 1 being that it was absolutely terrible at launch. Instead of being a Tactical shooter like it was supposed to be, Ubisoft instead tried to turn it into a looter shooter. Not to mention other stuff like lack of Ai teammates, no control of parameters, lack of military gear, the list goes on. Meanwhile at least Wildlands had almost everything down packed at Launch & felt more tactical from beginning to end. Now that's not to say Breakpoint didn't finally improve until much later & unfortunately not until Operation Motherland which was the final update to the game. There's still much more the game needs, but at least its playable to the average tactical shooter fan compared to year 1. Wildlands had minor issues in comparison, but the major issue was is that it stopped getting updated. I still will even argue that if it had Breakpoint's now immersive updates, clothing & gun customization, & whatever other good things breakpoint had that everybody loved, Wildlands would objectively be the better game in the end. The map & civilians combined with Breakpoint's now tactical immersive feel would make it the best GhostRecon game in the franchise.
@Sak-zo1ui Жыл бұрын
@@KZbinValkyrieQueen141 i aggree with your last paragraph. But being someone who has played since beta breakpoint is better. If you are playing any ghost recon to play as a tactical shooter you are not understanding what a tactical shooter is.
@YoutubeValkyrieQueen141 Жыл бұрын
@@Sak-zo1ui Your reply makes no sense. First off, how was playing Breakpoint during year 1 better in any shape or form? I literally explained why it was terrible & badly received by the community. Secondly, do you even know what a tactical shooter is? You're claiming I don't understand what it is, yet I explained GhostRecon is supposed to be a tactical shooter. It always has been in the past & the recent updates fixed the looter shooter idea Ubisoft was originally trying to go for. So your trying to say a tactical shooter shouldn't be played like an actual tactical shooter? I don't think you understand what you're saying. Edit: Mind you, the year 1 wasn't even beta, that was the full release & it ended up flopping badly. They sold the community an unfinished game.

7:37 This right here is how I know Breakpoint has _something_ in it that's good. It's a great sandbox shooter, where you can try out different tactics. I can tell it is because while you took the main road in I base jumped across the river and landed at the port, clearing my way up through the silos, leaving C4 on the vehicles the whole way. It's really one of the few locations in this game that stand out to me, namely because of how unique the geometry of the base is compared to a lot of other locations around Auroa. It probably also had something to do with how cleanly I executed that mission. It's still one of the most soulless Ghost Recon games, but the appeal of it is in the blank canvas nature of it. If they can carry this versatility over to a game that has some actual depth to the story and environments, enemies, and locations that actually have character and variety I think they have all the ingredients to make a good game. The question is, do they have the direction to do so? Also, I just had a decent idea. I noticed that when playing co-op there's obviously delay if you're trying to synchronize a shot, so what if they re-utilized the sync shot mechanic? You hold a certain button (on controller it's A, if that helps) and your characters verbally countdown (or maybe you get a HUD element?) that counts down 3, 2, 1, and that in-game countdown adjusts to the delay? I don't know. Maybe it's a little overcomplicated.

Seeing people play like this makes it actually look pretty fun. Unfortunately the only friend I have to play games like this is very competitive and races me for kills. Either he rushes and gets us caught trying to get as many kills as he can or I rush because I want to actually do something and play the game instead of wondering around while he kills everyone. Had the same issue in sniper elite co-op. I've tried to play this game several times but I always just get annoyed at the terrible AI and how they magically know where you are even if you've moved or didn't do anything to actually give away your position. Pretending to "search" while just going straight for you. Once had several drones circle me like they were playing hide and seek with a child and had to act like they didn't know exactly where I was to keep it fun. Or in co-op my friend sniping someone and putting the enemy in caution causing half of them to scale the mountain he was on several hundred meters away while the other half "searched" for me on the other side of the base despite me having done nothing to attract attention. Like 7 guys all slowly making their way right towards me pretending to search, changing direction whenever I moved, even backtracking still towards me if I manage to get past them, converging on my location and not leaving until they "find" me.

Finally, I draped a camo net towel over my face like a veil--so there was no facial outline (and it kept the mosquitos out). I squatted just in front of a bush with the same leaves and waited for the dawn assault. The training platoon came up right where I was squatting and ran right past me, one even brushing my shoulder. Then one guy stopped and stared right at me! I thought that was it, he'd seen me. But after a good five seconds he carried on his way. The back rage that happened after that was epic. There actually is a first person mod for wildlands, it’s buggy, but it works surprisingly well and I use it all the time

23:25 -- Ha! That made me think of a character like the ones in Step Brothers doing a ninja roll across the whole yard, then popping up ready for action.

great vid! hope to see more like this, where you play "casual" games with difficulty cranked up to realistic

I love seeing these kinda videos. Especially the fact thats its just 2 dudes with no real incentive to invade a base doing so just for the experience. Breakpoint may have a bad rep but i think the people who really get it, really do get it . I cant wait till my bestie is ready to do coop like we used to in wildlands

Man just imagine Breakpoint but in first person. I love the game as it is but it would make it even better to have such an option.

Every time I see videos of Drewski, Custer, Karmakut, etc, playing Ghost Recon Recon, Insurgency Sandstorm, and the like, the more I wish those games had cross-core functionality, cuz lord knows none of my friends play these games 😭!

Drewski talking about hunting like I talk about my fishing... "first light dynamite, throw in river, fishing is easy" 🤣

Wow. Custerplays sounds a lot like Keralis. Total throwback to my old taste in KZbin videos. Gonna have to check both guys out now.

This is great. I used to do this in Far Cry 3, turn off hud and just slik about the jungle trying to liberate the whole island

I went paint balling with a guy in a ghillie. We hid in this tall leafy ground growth by our flag. He said "don't shoot till they reach for it". It was fun.
@Domined3 Жыл бұрын
I got the hud off completely, the amount of research you have to do to complete missions with no hud is so fucking satisfying holy. Like my friend said with all the customization the only thing stopping this game from truly being maximally difficult is the amount of ammo you can find.

I like to imagine some people hunt with restraint and calm calculation, and some people take an AR out into the woods, unload on the wildlife and call it hunting.

Try this: Skip the main story. Never enter Erewhon. No buying or selling at bivouacs. No fast travel, except between bivouacs. No spawning vehicles. Your new goal: get 100,000 Skell credits. Extreme immersion mode. This is a true free roam and stealth approach game type. It's a lot of fun.

If you haven't tried it yet, I recommend you play the First Person Perspective mod for Wildlands. It's like playing a whole different game, and it makes me wish Ubisoft implemented a First Person mode by default in Wildlands and Breakpoint because it's more immersive. I can't go back to playing Ghost Recon in Third Person again after experiencing Wildlands in First Person. It's simply better.

Exactly how I've played this game. Strip the HUD and crank up the realistic settings.
