I knew her voice as a child, and now, having been adopted by Wales, wondered where she came from. And sure enough, on the eve of the great battle, found she was indeed Welsh. A delightful surprise, but perhaps not surprising. This land doesn't just breed voices, it breeds souls.

I hate it when an audience jumps in with noisy applause immediately, with nary a silence, especially after sublime/quiet closes to such music. That said, what a glorious performance.

Some comment says most neglected soprano? She recorded loads and made a Dame how is that for "Neglected". Price is wonderful A real neglected great soprano is Pauline Tinsley!

hmm. I love Price's voice although for me primarily a Strauss and Mozart soprano. taste differ.

Too bad this amazing singer had such a huge bore as Sawllaisch as conductor. The man was very imprecise with his gestures and a lot of us doubted that he even knew how to read music.
