Thanks! I've learned by ear, I don't use tabs. You can use KZbin's slow speed mode, it might help.

It's standard. I have no idea what they actually used in the studio. I used Mesa simulation for the amp and speakers along with overdrive.

how was the tone done? I had assumed it was a post-processed piano, not a guitar

If you mean in the intro. The main melody is done on the guitar, but there are some low base notes on the piano. Check the live version and you'll understand. The tone is just a clean Mesa mark IV with reverb and delay.

Great video man. dumb question - when you made this video how do you get the song playing in the background? Are you recording the guitar through a DAW? If you could let me know your process I would greatly appreciate it.

Yes. There's 2 tracks on Pro Tools, one with the song and the one recording my guitar.
