Lyrics
I can't see the meaning of this life I'm leading
I try to forget you as you forgot me
This time there is nothing left for you to take, this is goodbye
Summer is miles and miles away
And no one would ask me to stay
And I should contemplate this change
To ease the pain
And I should step out of the rain
Turn away
Close to ending it all, I am driftingthrough the stages
Of the rapture born within this loss
Thoughts of death inside, tear me apart from the core of my soul
Summer is miles and miles away
And no one would ask me to stay
And I should contemplate this change
To ease the pain
And Ishould step out of the rain
Turn away
At times the dark's fading slowly
But it never sustains
Would someone watch over me
In my time of need

I remember when I was like 3 or 4 years old, this was in 2010 or 2009, my father would always be playing ps2 and playing the full album, and i would love watching him play, but u would also listen to the songs, and it somehow stuck with me till now, I am 14 already and this album just gives me nostalgic memories of my father.

One of my all time favourite songs from Damnation that really captures the spirit of King Crimson's classic 'Epitaph' composition with the lush sounds of strumming acoustic guitar and haunting tones of the mellotron. Love it!

2:54 - "Would someone... watch over me... in my time of... NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED" So fucking powerful. I just learned this song on guitar and that part feels incredible everytime. I owe all my acoustic guitar wisdom to Mikael

I cannot stress enough how absolutely brutal of a song this is as someone who struggles with depression and suicidal ideation. Yet, it's oddly cathartic? I don't know, it's a weird a feeling.

I remember getting to see opeth live in Orlando when ghost reveries first released. It was them, dark tranquility, and devil driver. Og house of blues Orlando. This will forever be one of my favorite albums and easily one of my all time favorite concerts.

This album helped me when I was at my lowest, being alone and left out during highschool was really shitty, especially when your 'friends' only talk to you when they need something or just treat you like a backup friend, I found the lyrics to be very relatable, but thank god this summer I got a friend that made me feel wanted, I hope our friendship will last

This album, more specifically the song Windowpane was my introduction to this band. I was pretty surprised that they released this in between two death metal albums that were honestly pretty damn good too, I don't even know why they did it, but thank you, this is the best album I've discovered.
