Silent dance with death. Everything is lost. Torn by the arrival of Autumn. The blink of an eye, you know it's me. You keep the dagger close at hand. And you saw nothing. False love turned to pure hate. The wind cried a lamentation, before merging with the grey. Demon of the fall. Gasping for another breath. She rose, screaming at closed doors. Seductive faint mist forging through the cracks in the wall. I shan't resist. In tears for all of eternity. She turned around and faced me for the first time. Run away, run away. Just one second, and I was left with nothing. Her fragrance still pulsating through damp air. That day came to an end. And she had lost in me, her credence.

Well, when Opeth tours they don't get much time off inbetween them. If he blows his vocal chords out on day one, the next show will be a really bad performance or outright impossible. So it seems that he's compromising the intensity a bit to sustain his voice throughout ALL of the shows. If he only had say one show a month, he might be willing to up the intensity back up to where he had it in his younger days.

I really don't care that the growls are not the same as they used to. They are new, sound dark and evil (thats good). They are better now than a few years back. And lets talk about Mikael's clean vocals, they are AMAZING! I have never thought they were bad, but somehow it is getting better and better. All the instruments sounds really good! The organ at transition at 5:32 is so amazing! This song is so much better with synth/organ added. The audio engineers mixing this live show did a really good job. Will definitely buy this on vinyl.

Voice change and if you can't accept that, you are in for a lot of bad surprises in the next few years haha ! I know it's hard to accept, but bands are made of people who are not frozen in time. They grow older, they change and the things you loved back then might be gone someday. It does not, however , erase what has been done in the past (at least from my point of view). Yep, the eerie vibe is the very essence of Opeth. The Heritage overall still sounds evil to me. Pale communion started to loose this sound, but it was a very solid and cohesive album. They are both my all-time favorites. The Sorceress on the other hand is pretty bad (of course "bad" in Opeth standards) and sounds like it's stitched up from many different ideas. Plus the mix sucks. Oh, and he has been listening mostly to prog ever since the band took off, so I think it's the way he wants it. What I like about them is that you can never know what to expect on the next album.

I've seen opeth live three times and it's always been flawless. Every DVD recording has an issue with the guits. That being said, they are pros and handle it as such. This is amazing.

They played demon of the fall 4 days ago at İstanbul and it was great! Even their new songs were beautiful live, so happy to see them.
