John 4:23: "But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers" According to this verse, true worshipers worship the Father in spirit and truth because that is what the Father seeks. The apostle Paul also describes true worship in Romans 12:1-2. He says that true worship is motivated by the mercies of God, which include: Eternal love, Eternal grace, The Holy Spirit, Everlasting peace, Eternal joy, Saving faith, Comfort, Strength, Wisdom, and Hope.
