You absolutely nailed the jasper colors. Especially the red layer. When I see that color I immediately think of jasper. And the spoon wiggle on the brown layer was super satisfying

woah, that's a fascinating method! everytime i saw someone make cold process soap, they always mention the importance of having your lye and oils at close temperatures so seeing it done this way is so cool. Is it any different to do it this way vs lye and oils at the same temp or is it just for time and convenience as a more experenced maker?
@OpheliasSoapery2 жыл бұрын
Honestly from my experience it doesn’t matter too much if the oils and lye are different temps. I once soaped with my lye at 40°f and my oils at 80°f and it didn’t make any difference 😂 The heat transfer method is just a time saver. You don’t have to wait for the lye water to cool down.

How long do you wait in between colors to pour the next?
@OpheliasSoapery2 жыл бұрын
Sometimes only a minute or so. But sometimes it could take 20 minutes. Really depends on the fragrance oil :)
@niccoleholmes5672 жыл бұрын
Do you use any liquid oils in your soap? If so when do you add it because I have watched many of your videos doing the heat transfer method and I don't see you add liquid oils. I see you melt hard oils and then separate into smaller containers for color. Just wondering if you use liquid oils.
@OpheliasSoapery2 жыл бұрын
Yes I do. They are all in the 1 bucket :)
@niccoleholmes5672 жыл бұрын
So along with the hard oils to start you also have the liquid oils before adding the lye water?
@OpheliasSoapery2 жыл бұрын
Yes. One day I was thinking. I wonder if it would still melt if I added the liquid oils too. So I tried and it worked great. One less dish to wash wooo hoo 😂
