Hello Anja, I have been a subscriber for awhile now. I learned how to do the virus shawl from your tutorial. I love the chat videos you do. I also make continuous granny blankets with my leftover scraps. I enjoy putting a bright color and a dark color together and just doing hdc's for blankets as well. I watch a lot of PBS shows (I love British television). I watch Endeavor, Coronation Street, Agatha Cristie's Ms. Marple, Father Brown,. I could go on forever, lol. I crochet sitting on my side of the bed, I enjoy watching the birds and squirrels through my window. I live in Texas, USA. I've only been here 5 years and just started liking it. I came from a large city, Southern Los Angeles and the town we retired in is my husband's birthplace. One thing I have always liked about here is the many different trees and wild animals, it's fascinating. Just a little about me. Thanks again for teaching me how to make the virus shawl.

Watched fir the second time 02-15-19 You know, I always take a project to bed with me... And.. I love to dip coffee or tea early in the morning and crochet..sometimes I knit..but crochet relaxes me... I have a Granny Stitch scrap blanket started, but often forget it s there🙃. You have inspired me to put that blanket by my bed..along with some yarn, of course, and use it as my bed project... it will always be handy, and I won’t have to gather anything much up.... Thanks.. I stay up late too. Two times this week I was sleepy, so I went to bed when my husband did. The first night I then didn't wake up until 8...I do not like getting up that late. The second night I couldn't sleep past 3:30. Tossed and turned! The cat loved it because she saw it as an opportunity to receive attention in the middle of the night 😺 Last night I crawled into bed at 1:45 and all is well 🙃 I would love to say that I'll be up with you, but I live in the upper Midwest of the US. I love the way you are doing, picking the colors for this blanket. Leaving it up to chance. I have a blanket just like that I'm going to start as soon as the weather cools off. But I'm going to us my High Way Yarn. One day my husband and I were taking a drive in the Mountains, and we stoped at a cross road. My husband said look there is some yarn do you want it. It looked as though there was an accident and this big ball of Blanket yarn was sitting on the ground. It only had a few stickers but was in good condition. So bought another ball of Blanket yarn, I guess I can get another one iff I need it. But I am going to remember the way you pick your yarn colors with this blanket.
@ursulawood31775 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing. I actually do not have "huge" stash - it feels too much like hoarding. So when I've got too much leftovers I definitely make a blanket. And I absolutely love love love granny square patterns. It just makes me happy. I've done very advanced crocheting, but still, the simple granny, to me, is pure joy and a happy place to be. I feel I can then just crochet while watching a movie or binge watching. I work 3 wks per month and then 1wk off. So I always crochet (and read and watch movies) during my "down time". I think you are great. Because of my schedule I can't belong to a crochet club and I do not have a single friend who crochets! Unbelievable as it really is a passion of mine. Yes, I have friends who do art and crafs - all kinds - but not crochet. So watching youtube clips like yours makes me feel "closer" to a community of like-minded people!! So I love it. Thanks again. I love the stuff you make.

Thank you for the chatting. I'm working on a 12 point afghan,on the 12 skien,4 more to go. 4 different shades of homespun lion brand. I had to take a break from it,and made my grand daughter,7 yrs old,a ring a round the rosie circular vest,and a matching earwarmer. So,I've picked up the 12 point,again,have to finish it. It's lovely. But I'm looking at the 12 skiens of yarn I got on sale the other day. It's an ombre yarn. I'm wanting to make the straight granny stitch. Yours is so lovely. I have wool yarns,too. They're the best,most beautiful. I'm usually listening to music,but the lively chatting is nice. Thank you. You have beautiful crocheted items.

I never sew in ends, I use the Magic Knot technique. I used to crochet over ends, but this looks way better. Love granny blankets :-)

I crochet every night. Blankets, doggie blankets, bible covers, bags, jumpers. I just love wool. In the main it's DK and all colours.....

I recently found your channel and absolutely love the scrap blankets! Only problem is after I get a bag of scrap yarn I donate them to charity...... either just in balls or hats and scarves I’ve made. I have no scrap yarn now but I’m going to go out and buy various yarn and start a “scrap not really scrap” blanket for myself. I usually make baby blankets for my grandchildren or hats and scarves. I tend to crochet mid mornings or when my husband is busy watching football.

of course you can use 'fresh' balls of yarn too, good luck!!
