This music goes way beyond doom metal in a good way. It's as if the very heaviness inters your being, not for the faint hearted trendiest. Someone mentioned My Dying Bride and metalcore describing Ophis, I don't here any resemble to either. This is expertly executed crushing heaviness beyond most bands dreams.

I just got into Doom when I subscribed to Doom Metal Radio, and it has come a long way. Was/is into mainly Black Metal. But this is one of the best I've ever heard. No resemblance to My Dying Bride. I live in Phx AZ and finding good underground metal is impossible, they r all into gangster or run of the mill here and I feel like some kind of ghost. I have to try site to site and still am lucky to find even 1 of 4 CDs. And good luck finding someone who is into same. Had a couple good metal stores open only to have them go under and leave for somewhere else within 3-6 mo's. Horns to Ophis.

If you subscribe to KZbin premium, there's no interruptions or commercials and KZbin analyzes your listing habits and automatically lists the bands/music in your preferred genres, so I listen to all genres in metal and KZbin constantly lists the most extreme bands/music for me and I never have to search for myself. You can build playlists of 5,000 albums on KZbin music and let them play anyway you want. I've tried the different metal radio and I can't listen to some else's wimpy lame playlist, I prefer my own choices and KZbin is the best so far.
