I wish someone could have explained unlocking the steering wheel to him more clearly. You have to sort of jerk it back and forth while turning the key. Same with the neutral safety release being hidden under a little panel. I had the same experience as him with my first car and it was beyond frustrating. If you don't know you dont know.

Not all cars will let you put it in neutral with no power. My Infiniti will not go into neutral if you have no power.
