Q&A with pastor Ed: Q - Tito, naniniwala po ba kayo kay Yahweh as God presented in the Old Testament? A - In further and a more serious search for the Father of the Lord Jesus to know him better as Scriptures reveal/allow, we have been academically studying/reviewing both established teachings AND also beliefs and ideas that offer different perspectives ---all in the interest of expanding knowledge and seeing things from different points of view. One of those studies, an ongoing one, is the review-for-appreciation of our established belief that Yahweh is God as presented by the Jewish Scriptures. Part of that study is also a look at and review of some counter claims that Elyon is a different, separate persona from Yahweh and is the one who is the “higher God”. Then, there is this school of thought that says Yahweh and Elyon are one and the same, so wala naman dapat issue. At certain stages in our study, we shift to each school of thought in order to give each idea a fair hearing as an objective study is that: a study, a search, a process of questioning and trying to find answers. And in our academic classes, questions are not bawal; they are even encouraged. At this present stage in our study, the expectedly overwhelming volume of verses support the established teaching and belief that Yahweh is, indeed, the God presented by the Hebrew Scriptures/Old Testament. And, with due respect to the textual evidences reviewed, we therefore (expectedly) continue to subscribe to that: Yahweh is God as the Hebrew Scriptures write. By the way, our studies at DBD---our forays/excursions into Questions Land --are local and actually for our local church ---it is never imposed on others, except that it is also uploaded online for our congregations outside the DBD Center. Masisipag sila mangaral sa iba nga ones or twice a week lng. Sabi nga sa Biblia subukin natin ung espiritu nila kng totoo sila o hindi pano mo malalman un sabi ni Jesus makikilala mo sila basi sa bunga. Ang layunin nila ay ang buong pusong ipangaral ang ebanghelyo kahit abono pa sila. Sa Bunga makikilala ang puno. Pwedi makabisado mo ung bible pero ung sinasabi mo baligtad sa pamumuhay mo dun pa lng nakikilala mo ung totoo o hindi. Ung Espiritu ng sa Diyos o ng sa mga pariseo. My take on his preaching in " nasa legal age na siya " is that Pastor Ed Lapiz took on the road less travelled. Lumihis siya sa kinagawian, kasi yun naman talaga ang dahilan kung bakit si Jesus ay isinugo , ang ibalik ang kanilang paniniwala sa tunay na Diyos. Sa panahon ni Jesus Christ na prevalent ang Judaism, walang naglakas ng loob na mag-question sa authority ng mga Pahrisees, and those who dares to question them are of the Devil. But remember the devil is the ancient deceiver. Nauna pa siya kina Eba at Adan, at yun nga nadeceive niya yung dalawa. And the end result is what we have right now. Majority of the Christian pastors doesn't tackle this such! Why ? because of the fear of loosing his foothold in the congregation. Or they might fail to explain the what and whys. But here is Pastor Ed Lapiz, kinanti niya ang issue na ito. Just like Jesus, he questioned Israel about the God they are worshiping? Yes, they worship god but is it the true God that which is the father of Jesus? Hindi nga siya tinanggap na sugo at anak ng ama! Pinatay pa nga siya! My coherence ang line of presentation ni Pastor Ed, kailangan lang na unawain at intindihing mabuti ang mensahe niya, knowing that he has been preaching for decades, a historian, an academician, so may training talaga siya to teach. Hindi lang basta natuto ng salita ng diyos. Nag question si Jesus Christ sa lahat , Pharisees and all of Israelites na kung sila ay naniniwala sa sinasabi nilang Diyos na si Yahwe ay marapat na tanggapin siya na kanyang anak at isinugo sa kanila na nasusulat sa kanilang Old Testament. It was clear that Pastor Ed gave emphasis to read the Old Testament. He is right the moment he encourages us to read the gospels and to read them by heart... the story about the blind man that Jesus healed on a Sabbath day... I think Pastor Ed specifically talking about an isolated case... that even if the blind man don't know who is the Son of the higher God is still this man's faith saved him and made him able to see. Made him able to see the light and grace, while religious/ righteous people condemned Jesus for doing things on a Sabbath day. Ptr Ed is a Bible scholar and only another Bible scholar is qualified to contest what he understands. The rest - its just mere riding with the popularity of this issue. Love cannot be apart from the law. Makikita natin ang ganitong relasyon sa magulang na nagturo sa anak ng tamang asal. Nagpalaala ang magulang sa anak dahil kailangan naintindihan ng anak kung bakit may "rules". Ang rules na ikakabuti din ng anak. Ang pag turo ng rules sa anak ay pagmamahal. Without the law given by YHVH through Moses man will not become aware of sin. Law is necessary to become righteous. Awareness ng pagkakasala ay kailangan para sa pagsisi. At para makakuha ng pagpapatawad.

A Holiness religion that becomes Exclusive for those who can afford. The speaker attacks the "Yaweh" persona created by this Strict superficial religion, he is attacking the religious system and those who manipulate it. That they manufactured a Terror character God to compel people to fear them, to control people and to protect their HOLY and untouchable status in their religion. The message it self is not about YAWEH vs EL Elyon, its all about Liberating people from the burdensome over controlling religion who painted a very wrong impression of who really God is, and by calling people to follow Him and listen to HIm (Jesus) people will find rest for their souls, that God who is the Most high God is loving, approchable, willing to listen, understands, accepts people whatever status in life, and forgives and cares even for those whom we judge as sinners (Romans 5:6-8). Ikaw ba ay nasa hustong gulang na? With all the theology and knowledge you have, naging very loving ka ba? That people see and experience you as the nearest Jesus at this present time? Think pls.

God already warns us in the Bible about false teachers, preachers and prophets. We have to read God's word daily pra hindi tayo deceive. Kahit sino namang preachers anytime pwedeng sumablay at ma-misinterpret ang Bible kasi tao lang naman tayo.
