Right, but the write-off is not 100% ist it? At the end of the day, they are still "losing" money by doing these transactions, however not as much as they seem to be giving to the art institutes. I just know how it works in France, so some more enlightenment could be helpful

@PappyMandarine
@PappyMandarine 5 жыл бұрын
@@teddy-1965 I would be very surprised if it's 100%. That means that they virtually can transform 100% of the taxes they have to pay into donations. And we all know that donations are not completely lost money, often these donations enable to make advertisement and brand promoting (as shown in the video), so any donation really is bringing some benefits back to the "benefactor". In this case, every company in the US, instead of simply "losing" money that they pay as taxes, would be donating and therefore converting some of that costs into benefits. It would be ridiculous and the state would go bankrupt pretty soon. Of course there should be limitations regarding the volume of these donations, but still, it would be a massive loss for the almighty state.
@EmpyreanLightASMR

That doesn't make sense. You can't write off a donation if you've received something in exchange. Then it's a donation with a gift or essentially a purchase.

Those actors typically have a minimum appearance rate of $100,000 per hour. What they do is when they want to contribute "for free" is to donate the said amount to NPO's such as actor schools, children charities etc. Every of these individuals is linked to more than one charity (use the search engine, I was amazed at how many The Batman was involved with). My comment is not theoretical btw, we did this multiple times.

Update: My usually useless state, Oklahoma, won their lawsuits against Purdue, Teva, and Johnson & Johnson, and literally pushed Purdue into bankruptcy after they lost and other states were filing suits against them too. 40 states I believe have filed similar suits against Big Pharma companies. Purdue has to pay our state $270 million, Teva has to pay $85 million, and J&J has to pay $572 million from these lawsuits. Purdue if you don’t know practically kicked off the opioid epidemic by pushing OxyContin for everything, giving doctors who prescribed more of it kickbacks like paid “pharmaceutical conferences” that were really just free vacations for their good little doctors who prescribed a lot. Now the Sackler Family who owned Purdue, even though the company is in chapter 11 bankruptcy, has coughed up $175 million so far but the family itself still owes OK $75 million. *We are coming for you Big Pharma*

My dad got addicted to opioids. It made him just like... check out of life, it seemed like. He went to work, he'd come home and just not care about anything. He seemed like he didn't care much about the emotions of anyone in the house. He was also irrational at times. All of that nearly destroyed the relationship I had with my dad. He's several years clean now, he's losing weight and has more care and enthusiasm for the people around him. I honestly thought I'd never know my dad again, and now we get together and have dinner a couple times a month. He wasn't there when I needed him as a kid and that hurt a lot, but I've forgiven him too because I won't be weighed down by those feelings. He's by no means perfect, but I can see he's really trying now and that means a lot.

My dad wasn't an addict but I can relate to your situation. He just went to work and came back with out saying a word, he showed zero interest in getting to know his children or spending them with them. I think most of it was because of his childhood traumas which led him to unable to show any kind of affection. I just feel bad for him because he doesn't realize that all of those traumas, nearly died of food poisoning bacause of poverty, watching his sister get sent off to be somebody's bride at the age of 14, getting beat up everyday, were traumas. He just laughs at them and thinks that things like that were just a little rough because of the poverty.

Not just America's... America successfully installed these systems around the world. Capitalism is all for profit don't forget about that because America installed capitalism around the world by forcing everyone to compete. We in Europe had pretty good health systems since many countries here had socialists in the government but our health systems are becoming increasingly a two class system. The rich get what the need the poor have to wait for months. This is due to the fact that Europe took the USA as an role model for how to maximise profit in health care. And I can assure you health has nothing to do with profit and trying to profit off hurt and ill people is barbaric and inherently inhumane.

@@LadyAneh You're missing the point. Pieces like this (and the thousands and thousands of ones like it that have been coming out for years now) have caused it to become MUCH more difficult for someone like me (a person with a legitimate disability that causes severe chronic pain and has no cure) to get access to pain medication. The hysteria surrounding the opioid crisis, which is a completely legitimate issue, has caused a separate completely legitimate issue where patients no longer have access to the medicine that is necessary to live a comfortable life. Whether or not it "blames addicts" is irrelevant, as the piece feeds into the general hysteria surrounding the crisis. I personally have needed access to opioids since I was a small child, so for roughly the past 30 years, and as time goes on that access has dwindled away. For example I had a surgery about 4 years ago where I had a metal rod removed from my left tibia, and during the surgery the doctor fractured my tibia. He didn't want to give me pain meds when I woke up from surgery, and he didn't want to give me pain meds to take home. After having a surgery. With a broken fucking tibia. I had to complain to hospital administration. It was completely absurd. And good luck trying to get a prescription AT ALL for any sort of chronic pain that can't be treated in any way aside from making the symptoms more tolerable. When you feed into public hysteria, it hurts not just the people at fault, but the innocent disabled folks like myself that NEED these drugs. As the pressure that is put on the doctors themselves rises, to control the crisis, they're just not going to prescribe these medicines anymore that are actually extremely beneficial when used correctly and prescribed correctly. My life is miserable without an oxycodone prescription, and I haven't been able to get one for my chronic pain in many many years. Imagine being in pain all day every day and there being no way to fix it, and the one thing that makes your life somewhat more comfortable is taken away from you? I am mad that these companies are responsible for pushing highly addictive drugs to people that don't need them, but I am also mad when people feed into the hysteria and treat all opioids as if they're heroin. When used responsibly and prescribed responsibly, they're perfectly fine drugs.

Gretchen Hubbert You must be new to shit. You chewed one once? Lol thats sweet. A waste, but sweet. But you’re partially right. The time release plastic shit does make them impossible to crush up and sniff. I guess you can kinda sniff them but they’ll gum right up ur nose but there definitely is a way to transform OPs into something powdery and sniffable. There’s a way to break down just about every pharma to toot or bang. There’s usually always a way or process with addition of a chemical or other additive like even crack with citric acid tabs or kool-aid in a pinch (I don’t do that shit but i know how) and mfs bang it. It only takes 5 mins to powderize then cook them and then you have basically like what the OCs used to be if u were old enough to remember them. They’re the shit that kicked off the opiate epidemic, they’re way stronger than oxys but addictive and had a high rate of ODs that’s why they reformulated them into the extended release OPs which are garbage unless cooked into instants. U need a couple tools to get it into a powder form then you cook it at a specific temp for a specific time to cook off the plasticity, webby cut shit that makes them gum up when you sniff them. A 60 or 80mg OP cooked into an instant is like blasting off to the moon, a cooked 80 is way better than 8 10s in my and ppl who tried it opinion. I know how but a lot of ppl dont so they gotta pay someone who does know how so... I’m not sharing my recipe for free tho.

Ive been on methadone for awhile now to treat my addiction to pain killers that started by just listening to my doctor. It turned my life into a living hell. I didnt look like what people think of when they hear “drug addict” I have money, a nice house, a good job, a loving family. These opiods became a daily necessity just so i could appear healthy and i just felt stuck. God help those who have to turn to the street for drugs just to keep themselves healthy and i hope they are lucky enough to find a way of treatment that will help them escape this horrific vice. Methadone as a treatment for opioid addiction is a lifesaver and IS PART OF THE SOLUTION not the problem. At least at this point where the damage has already been done and we need every tool we can get to help people who have suffered in the opioid epidemic.

Yes back in the beginning of all this we didn't know what's known now and my very trusted Dr played a part in my addiction as well..he literally could have saved my life by just being honest. He knew I was completely ignorant of what I was getting into, as most people were at that time, and that I was vulnerable to that particular type of med but he kept his mouth shut and prescribed me meds. I even consulted w him as to why I couldn't just use that to treat my depression, he decided to not be 100% and continue giving me meds for my back. When I came to him for help he said he knew it was gonna happen and he couldn't help me..shortly after he dropped me as a patient. He was mine and my childrens Dr for over 10yrs and I completely trusted him. I he would of had to say was it's as dangerous as heroin and it would have been end of story..I was opposed to caffeine (among many other things) back then bc it wasn't good for me and addictive. I didn't like to take any meds, otc or otherwise, unless he convinced me I should.

I am on Methadone too and thought at first reading your comment that it was the methadone who turned your life into a living hell thank God it's not that, although in Europe and Africa (I'm an Algerian student living in France) opiods are way less potent than in the US, but I still did lose a bunch of precious young years because of it and didn't even think until lately that it was the real problem cause I have Chron's disease so I viewed the painkillers as a solution even when I was pain free, but it does hinder alot of your projects in life and hurts your focus pretty bad in those euphoria filled moments but anyway you're right people shouldnt be afraid methadone and really consider it as a real solution, or else they'll lose valuable time of their healing process, good luck to you, stay safe!

Yes. We have a way of swinging from one extreme to the other in this country. At first doctors advocated for treating pain as a diagnosis itself, and handed it out like candy. Now, if a patient is actually in pain, the doctors are concerned that they are drug seekers. This is largely because of our "war on opiates". How stupid is it for government policy to radically swing from liberal opiate availability to extreme restriction? People wonder why there are more overdoses now than before this "war". Could it be the sudden lack of availability of legitimate and safe opiates to the currently addicted and chronically in pain? Or could it be due to the increased usage of tainted, illicitly created meds that are obtained on the street? Did the federal government just make it a better option for the addicted and those in chronic pain to switch to a cheap, illegal, and often tainted substance like heroin? When are we ever going to learn that declaring a "war on X" does not work out so well in the end for actual people.... Rant over
