The more you are skilled in the role, the more you are gonna play champs that can offer opportunities/empowered one to make a play or champs that can save/disrupt one, not that pure damage supp have less value but usually a team know where to funnel the gold and how to mantain that advantage and make it snowball even more, damage supp usually will take kills (even if they do not want, you have damage, it will happen) and will not add nothing other then raw damage, it's a good pick when you have the rest of the team flat on damage bc there is more utility in their kit (but this usually means you are gonna still take an option that can offer utility, a champ like Senna it's a perfect example), usually you will not pick a damage ap supp bc your team lacks ap damage, this is not meant to happen. In low elo, where you can't trust/coordinate with nobody and rarely a fed teammate will snowball without throw (or even will get fed lol), supp player usually will take the matter in their hand and pick a champ that can carry even from that position (they also do not trust the adc, if the adc sucks, better on me the kills) Damage supports are seen often with not much regard as enchanter and the other supp classes bc for many it's just more easy to just throw damage with lux vs using at your best the kit of a champ like Alistar, what do you think?

Yup. Exactly that. When you have reliable dps from your trusted teammates, you just want to buff and shield them and give opportunies(cc)/survivability. In low elo, you only trust yourself 😁 that's why I play zyra. Nothing worse than playing lulu without a carry 😢

T1 had been progressively better throughout the tournament so I’m not sure that would ever happen. T1 was a little shaky at first but made insane plays that won them Worlds. Even JDG, the best team in the world was destroyed by T1. Still, can’t refute that they are T1’s kryptonite. However, a team that is designed to beat only one team will go no further in a tournament with multiple play-styles.
