I don't want to be that kind of person that overthinks the meaning of the song because of their current situation BUT I think this is what they wanted to say and what they wanted to do had they known what Jonghyun was feeling at the time. They are a rare group in many aspects 1) no matter what they never forget to mention their members if anyone is unable to come to a concert or show 2) they usually always mention Jonghyun in their fanmeets and concerts 3) their songs have quite varying tunes: a wide range of tunes 4) they did unexpectedly good ever since debut( especially when they were not even 20 back then) and still surprise us everytime

For the longest time I avoided looking up the lyrics to this song because I knew what they were singing about just from listening and watching their performances. Now that I have read the lyrics I can't stop crying. Shinee was my first bias group and the start of my love for kpop and Jonghyun's passing has been so hard to process. I hope he has found peace. What I love most about this song is it can be taken two different ways, if not more. Like in one way it seems like they are talking about wanting to see a person really bad. Or it's just a message of comfort and saying, "You're not alone, I'm here" type of thing. (similar context like BTS Magic-Shop) It's just my thoughts. But really the lyrics make me fall more in love with this song each time I listen to it. And the dance to the video is flawless.

I always thought this song was dedicated to Jonghyun and I can't help but smile and cry every time I hear it, it feels like a connection between the two and while I dance I think of how he would watch over them and be proud. I do miss him but I know he probably feels at peace or at least like he doesn't have to struggle anymore or battle his demons ( I understand the feeling , I have been suicidal and self harmed but I've been clean for at least 4 years) I know how difficult is it I have bad depression and anxiety do I can imagine how tough it was , but being famous I could never know how that feels He was loved by many and will always be remembered even if it's by music or how he healed so many of us
