Not a Single Word about the pioneer of Nuclear Physics.. Dr Meghnath Saha ..ex presidency college and Calcutta University and Chembridge University....this Ouantum Physics and Mechanics was also a subject of Dr Saha s research....he offered Nehru to develop an Independent India n Nuclear Reactor ...but being a Bengali in this India ..is a disadvantage ...so he himself built a Nuclear Reactor at Calcutta...which you know now as SAHA INSTITUTE OF NUCLEAR PHYSICS....but he and his work is neglected till now..this Nuclear Physics and Qantum Physics was also a part of research work of Satyendra Nath Bose ...and Dr Amal Kumar Roy Chowdhury .. and his Roy Chowdhury Equation has never got their due recognition in India or even world wide.....

শ্রদ্ধেয় ডাক্তারবাবু, শুরুতেই বলি আমি আপনার অসংখ্য গুণমুগ্ধের মধ্যে একজন হলেও এই ওপেনহাইমারকে যে প্রমিথিউসের সঙ্গে তুলনা করলেন তা যেন যথার্থ বলে মনে হলো না অন্তত আমার কাছে। এটা বলা বাহুল্য যে ওপেনহাইমার পৃথিবীর শ্রেষ্ঠ বৈজ্ঞানিকদের একজন এবং পারমাণবিক বোমার জনকও বটে। যে সময় জার্মানি ও রাশিয়াও পারমাণবিক বোমা আবিষ্কারের পথে হাঁটছে সেসময়ই তাঁর নেতৃত্বে আমেরিকার সেই বোমা আবিষ্কার ও নিউ মেক্সিকো মরুভূমিতে তার সফলতম পরীক্ষা দেশের নিরাপত্তা ও সামরিক ক্ষমতা অনেকটাই বাড়িয়ে দেয়। এতখানি পর্যন্ত ওপেনহাইমারের ভূমিকা একজন বিজ্ঞানী হিসাবে বা একজন আমেরিকান নাগরিক হিসেবে বা এমনকি একজন ইহুদী হিসেবেও প্রশংসার দাবী রাখে। এরপর হিরোসিমা ও নাগাসাকিতে ঘন জনবসতির উপর সেই বোমার প্রয়োগ ও মুহুর্তে জনপদ নিশ্চিহ্ন করা হয়। তারপর পরবর্তী বেশ কয়েক বছর সে দেশের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ রিসার্চ সংস্থার ডিরেক্টর বা পারমানবিক রিসার্চ কাউন্সিলের উপদেষ্টামন্ডলির চেয়ারম্যানপদে প্রত্যাশা মতো তাঁর বহাল থাকাটা যেমন খুবই স্বাভাবিক ঘটনা ছিল ঠিক ততটাই প্রমিথিউসের সঙ্গে তাঁর তুলনাটাও অস্বাভাবিক লাগে। প্রমিথিউস মানবজাতির কল্যানের উদ্দেশ্যে একটা কাজ করেছিল যদিও পরবর্তীতে তার সেই কাজকে খারাপ উদ্দেশ্যেও বারবার ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে কিন্তু ওপেনহাইমারের গবেষণার বস্তুটি কোনভাবেই মানবজাতির কল্যাণের উদ্দেশ্যে করা হয়নি। যদিও তর্কের খাতিরে এটা মেনে নেওয়া যায় যে নিজেদের দেশের নিরাপত্তার তাগিদে তা আবিষ্কার করা হয়েছিল কিন্তু এটা কেমন করে মানা যায় যে আবিষ্কারের সঙ্গে সঙ্গেই এর দুই-দুইবার ব্যবহার হিরোশিমা ও নাগাসাকির মতো জনবহুল এলাকায় যখন হিটলার ও মুসোলিনী ইতিমধ্যে মৃত আর অক্ষশক্তির কোমরও ভেঙে গেছে?? যতোদিন রুজভেল্ট, ট্রুম্যানের মতো ডেমোক্রেটিক প্রেসিডেন্টরা ছিল মনে হয়না ওপেনহাইমার কোন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদের বাইরে ছিলেন কিন্তু রিপাবলিকানদের সময় ব্যাপারটা পরিবর্তিত হয়। আবার কেনেডির মতো ডেমোক্রেটিক প্রেসিডেষ্ট আসায় তাঁর হারানো গৌরব ফিরে আসে। যাই হোক এই থেকে একটু হলেও বোঝা যায় এতো লোকের মৃত্যুতে তিনি যে মন থেকে খুব দুঃখিত হয়েছিলেন তা কিন্তু মোটেও না তা যতোই তিনি আমাদের গীতাকে ঢাল করুক, মহাভারতে কুরুক্ষেত্রের যুদ্ধের পর পান্ডবরা সব ছেড়ে চলে যায় মনের দুঃখে এবং অভীষ্ট লক্ষ্য পূর্ণ হবার কারনে, সেই অংশটুকু তিনি মনে হয় পড়েননি! আমেরিকা হাইড্রোজেন বোমা পরীক্ষা করে 1954 এ তখন রিপাবলিকানরা ক্ষমতা দখল করে নিয়েছে এবং উনি এই বোম তৈরির বিরোধিতা করেছেন কিন্তু প্রকৃত রাজনীতিটা সেইসময় কি হয়েছিল এবং কাদের মধ্যে হয়েছিল এতোদিন পর তার বিশ্লষণ করা একপ্রকার অসম্ভব। তবে আমার ব্যক্তিগত ধারনা হলো আমরা যেসব তথ্য পড়ি বা দেখি ওই সম্পর্কে তা যেন পূর্বপরিকল্পিতভাবেই আমাদের জানানোর জন্যই প্রকাশিত হয়েছিল। প্রনাম নেবেন।
