The saddest part about this all is that we won't see more of these amazing Oppenheimer interviews once The Oscar Season ends!

Isn't it wonderful?! I adored him as Chaplin, I love Chaplin, and for 30 years or so he's been breaking our hearts. Thank the Lord he met his wife, I couldn't stop crying at the Oscars. "Oppenheimer" may take over Citizen Kane or something to be the best film in history.

Hasn't it just?! Not being a huge fan of his, other than The Prestige and now Oppenhiemer, I dismissed him as pompous. I have warmed to him hugely over the last while however. One video I watched was Nolan hosting a Q and A for PT Anderson's Phantom Thread. Nolan delights in telling Anderson that after he sat his family down to watch the film (Nolan is a huge fan of the movie), the Nolan household now calls Chris 'Mr Woodcock' when he gets dictorial at home. ''Clean your room before your mother comes home', ''Yes Mr Woodcock, right away Mr Woodcock'. Anyone who can goof around with the entertaing PTA is ok in my book!

Damn. Nolan's unexpected, uncharacteristic "I Love you, Man", had me in stitches. P.S: Also, people who criticize Nolan, claiming his movies have no humour or emotion are either truly stupid or are just malicious. Emotion is at the core of all of his movies from Memento's revenge-obsessed protagonist to Inception's Cillian character finding peace with his father's memory being the biggest part of the movie's twist. And all his movies have humor. I think Nolan intentionally created the robot TARS character in Interstellar with adjustable humour setting to mock his critics who falsely accuse him of being humorless. I think too much MCU movie humour has corrupted the audience and critics. ( I do like MCU movies by the way. But not the newer ones.) (Cillian's comment on what Nolan sees in an actor @ 36:21 triggers a humourous & serious back-and-forth compliment, ultimately ending with Nolan's epic "I love you, man" @39:38.)

More than Robert Fisher and his daddy issues, Inception is actually about Dominic Cobb's (Leo) grief and guilt, processing his wife's s**cide. His whole story is do deeply rooted in emotions! And who can forget Matthew McConaughey sobbing face from Interstellar when he sees his kids grown up while he is separated from them. That movie is about family bonds and love more than space! Watching his movies, it really feels like Nolan must love his wife and kids so much to be so afraid to lose them, as the main characters in many of his films do!

Loved Oppenheimer as just a movie. But just to have Chris Nolan be so vocal is in itself enough for me. I don't think he would have given so many interviews for any of his previous or future films. Only for Oppenheimer since he believes this is not his story, for the first time he just was a mediator of an already existing story. The script too was written as though its a letter or diary entry from Oppenheimer himself.

What I loved is that they made the choice not to show the actual dropping of the bomb or focus on that. That could have been incredibly insensitive to the people of Japan, and not showing it was a clever narrative decision and almost made the whole thing more ominous and effective. Focusing on the potential Hydrogen bombs towards the end as well made you realise how terrifying the whole thing is, without ever actually showing it. Brilliant film.

When you have a large ensemble, star casting helps the viewer distinguish one person from the next. If it had been a cast of unknowns, it would have been much harder to tell who was who, especially the very minor characters (e.g., Jack Quaid as Richard Feynman).

Riley didn't do any research at all. She was CLUELESS about Nolan not getting into film school which is COMMON KNOWLEDGE. Any idjit knows Cill did MisterMan 12 YEARS AGO, yes he WAS A YOUNGER MAN. He has done Ballyturk and Grief is the thing with feathers along with the songs from safe harbour festival installation of Max Porters All of this unreal time in the last 10 years. Deeply disappointed that Cill was not given acknowledgement of his amazing stage career. Cill has a 50 film filmography working with the best writer/ directors in the world. (Danny Boyle, Ken Loach,Neil Jordan and Nolan) and Riley kept calling him a" journeyman". In Europe he is considered one of the greatest and is treated with utmost respect. Riley is disrespectful of real artists and just wants to fangirl so someone famous will like her.
