Well made video (yes it's me 💀), very useful seeing it from the black side, good depth of analysis. Hope the audience was entertained by white's antics, whoever he is he must be a very lovely person😂

That c6 move is crazy, i'd never have seen that for either side

You're opponent won this time (yes, I liked that pawn move too) but the analysis you've been sharing is super interesting. Keep up the good work. We appreciate it.

so like that drill i mentioned with blindfolded endgames and practicing tactics stopping after every candidate move for both sides and clearly visualize the position. the clearly visualize part i realize is a bit vague. Normally we analyze while looking at the board and we sometimes overlap the analyzed position with the current position, So a square that a knight has vacated is during calculation still blocking a file. this is particularly hard the deeper you calculate and the more pieces are present. the blindfolded endgame training is meant to improve the amount of pieces you can keep track of and your spacial awareness. the tactical training is meant to refine your normal calculation method by visualizing it clearly with the aid of the board keeping track of which squares are now empty or occupied. taking special care to account for all forcing, backwards and sideways moves. I am still thinking of how best to create a drill for efficiency, maybe add a time component to both drills? and a drill for positional evaluation

Sounds fascinating! Personally, I wouldn't go down the timed efficiency route. I think the times will then become the focus rather than getting better at the drills. I think efficiency will come with regular practice; something I've experienced from sport and music lessons.

Interestingly, due to the nature of the exchange French, the very same idea to spice things up with an early Qh5 can be applied by Black too in some lines, like in the famous Winter vs Alekhine which featured "the gun". Game turned into a pretty complex middlegame, and you kept chances for 3 results for the whole time... it's difficult to resist trading that strong c5 horsie, it's unfortunate that the rook has no squares that are both safe and active, so you can't get easily get back the c5 pawn nor exploit their King in the center Keep the confidence up against these higher rated players, you are there, the points are coming

@@lularobsI do believe you, I just find it funny because you kept saying 'as you can see' and then there were so many comments saying 'we can't'

Nice game! Your opponent was a good friend of mine. We played in a junior team tournament in Czechia in U14 for England. Didn't know he was still playing!
