Opposition parties: Midvaal clean on paper only

ANC's Michael Ndebele says the Midvaal Local Municipality ignores informal settlements and townships. He adds land that could potentially see about 8 000 houses built was procured, but residents are forced to live in informal settlements with no proper water supply and sanitation.

What is sad is that they still get voter support in spite of the glaring incompetence/ineffectiveness as opposition in a well run municipalities and at provincial level. What we saw in May was only the beginning, the LGEs will tell us exactly where this is going…

'Informal settlement', why there should be service delivery in an 'informal settlement'? Infact it falls outside the scope of provincial government and it is the responsibility of national government! So his argument is not valid on the provincial/local grounds

You are just speaking from a place of privilege, and not from a place of need. South Africa is the most economically divided country, we need to understand the fact that other people are in desperate need of services. I’m sure when you complain to the municipality, it’s about your grass not being cut or a pothole. 😅
